10 Meter International Express
I am looking at a 1983, 10 Meter. Does anybody have any comments about this particular year or model good or bad. I am going to move in the next couple of weeks and would appreciate the input.

Re: 10 Meter International Express
I bought a 1982 10 meter express last October. I am the envy of most of the F32 owners in our club. It is a unique boat. It is longer and wider than a 34 ft Sea Ray. The electric doors, the two refers, one on the back deck make it quite impressive.

I had some problems with dry rot. The bulkhead behind the engines had dry rot in the lower corners near the sides. I think it was due to water coming in from the air vents. I cut out the old deck as near the top as I could and replaced it with 1/2 inch marine plywood and bedded it in with 5200 caulk.

The rear deck had a soft spot where water had gotten in from a screw hole and rotted the end grain balsa. I repaired it by taking it out of the boat and repaired it according to a PBS video called Ship Shape.

I consider it a beautiful boat. I had a survey so I knew of the problems before I bought the boat. I recommend you do the same.
