Evening hunt in north missouri, 40-50 mph winds. I knew there was 3 to 4 bucks this size in the area, from scouting the area the previous 2 days. He came in all by himself not a doe in sight.
I knew the wind was real bad so i let him get as close as i could stand (about 20yds) and let him have it, he never knew he was hit

Great buck!!! Excellent shot in the wind at 20 yards! Im suprised you even saw a deer. I never have any luck when its windy, usually the big boys stay bedded down, but then you have the rut going on also! Congrats on one heck of a wallhanger!!
Windy days
When those winds start whipping 15+ is often a good time to be in the woods. The wind can make the deer nervous and they will get up and start moving. If your out there pick a very stout tree and Be sure to where your safety harness. I was only 4 to 5 feet off the ground on this buck. You can be guaranteed any deer you see in high winds will be keyed up and very cautious. i have freinds who like to still hunt in high winds, your noise and movement is covered by the wind
