1974 400 cid timing info
I've got a '74 Roadrunner with a 400 cid engine. I'm interested in timing the ignition, but have few questions as to how to do it: Which cylinder is the #1 on this engine?
What is the firing order of this engine?
What is the degree setting I'll be looking to set?

Any help, hints, or secrets to doing this the right way would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, John

Re: 1974 400 cid timing info
Firing order For Chrysler 400 is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.

cylinder numbers front to rear.
L - 1-3-5-7 R - 2-4-6-8

distributor rotation is counter clockwise.

Looking at the motor from the front of the car

8 7
6 5
4 3
2 1
The distributor is in the front and nearest to the # 2 cylinder

Timing is set at 5 degrees BTDC + or - 2 degrees (3 to 7 degrees BTDC)
