3 Important Announcements from L-83
Just got this email from L-83:
John Announces Weekend Cruise Getaway for February 2008!
There's no better place to enjoy the wonderful weather of February than the Bahamas. With that in mind...
We are pleased to announce the first ever John Mayer-hosted cruise: The Mayercraft Carrier.
The Mayercraft Carrier is a 3-day Caribbean cruise that sets sail on February 1, 2008 from Miami, FL and visits Freeport, Bahamas before returning on February 4, 2008. The cruise will feature sets by John in nightclub-like settings as well as performances by a dozen or so other hand-picked artists. All of this takes place aboard the Carnival Victory, a member of the Carnival fleet that includes all the luxurious amenities Carnival is known for such as a full service spa, fine dining, a casino, and much more.
Availability is limited and as a Local 83 member you will have the benefit of booking before the general public. Cruise fare starts at $699 per person based on double-occupancy. Keep an eye on MayercraftCarrier.com. In the coming weeks we will be launching a full-blown website for detailed information.
Replace the mittens with suntan lotion, the resolutions with buffet feasts, and your car in traffic with a 90,000-ton cruise ship full of rock bands!
See you aboard.

Reverb To (Light) Green John's Tour This Summer!
Our friends at Reverb will be on the road with us this summer helping to green up some basic elements of the tour. They'll be helping offset our shows with wind power, fueling our buses with biodiesel and putting together a "village" in the concourse that consists of environmentally and socially minded non-profits and green sponsor types. You'll be able to learn about renewable energy and alternative fuels, talk to local groups in your area doing good things, register to vote, sample tasty organic treats and much more.
Reverb is also looking for a few good volunteers to help get info out, staff the booths and help with the recycling efforts. Email JohnMayerVolunteer@ReverbRock.org and go to their weblink below to get involved.
To find out more about what Reverb is up to on the road with us and how you can help, visit: www.ReverbRock.org/JohnMayer
Eat and Greet Update!
The new "Eat and Greet" benefit is in effect for most of the summer shows. If you purchased a ticket through Local-83, you're automatically in the running to meet John before your show! In addition, food and refreshments will be served before the meet. Five (5) winners will be notified by e-mail or telephone prior to each show date, so please make sure your member information is updated. Winners may bring one (1) guest of their choice. Guests do not have to be Local-83 members. We look forward to seeing you backstage! Sorry, no cameras or camera phones while backstage.

I imagine the sales for the cruise will be crazier than the Eddie's shows...

Hmm, just read the "3 announcements" more carefully. I found it on the strange side that the summer tour will be going green but yet there's going to be a giant cruise ship that needs to be fueled. Maybe this cruise ship is actually one large sailboat

Karla you crack me up.
A cruise? I can hardly stand in line with some of these people, much less be stuck on a boat. Ten bucks says he won't be on the boat, they'll helicopter the Boy in.
Re: 3 Important Announcements from L-83
nope he will be on the boat...cruise start to finish...maybe the last time he cruises..but ???? Should be an interesting three days.

Well, it will certainly be interesting to hear the stories. Debbie I take you are going and taping? You mentioned going on TRB the last year. I'm really curious as to folks stories about the boat, the show and everything in between. I would love to go but for one I don't think I'm very sea worthy and two, it would really be a financial burden for only three days.

Yeah, neither could I. I didn't think she was even considering it. She went to Red Rocks & I think that changed her mind. After it's done, I'll grill her for details
ehhhhh
Actually if you look at it...it's not that bad....we have three to a cabin and it breaks down to just about 200 a day...now if you figure a jm ticket is 50 bucks and your hotel room is 125...and you eat really cheap 25 bucks for the day that about covers it...so all in all not much different than going to a jm concert...
and you get a lot more music, a lot better food and some fun with friends...a bargain...
