'69 Road Runner info needed
I'm looking at a road runner and mopar cars are not something I've got a great deal of knowledge about. If it was a 60's Dodge truck it would be a little different.
This info was provided by a friend who saw the sign on the car. He's a Ford man. Everyone I know is Ford or Chevy. So I hope the board can help.
69 Road Runner 383 4speed bucket seats with console Blue $3500.
How can I determine if everything is correct for this car? Where are the numbers located? How do I break them down? How can I tell if it is a 69 or 69 1/2?
Where are the problem spots for rust? Or any common problems I should look for?
Assuming no major rust problems, everything matches, and the interior is in decent shape is the asking price reasonable. If the price is good enough I'm thinking about picking it up and turning it at Chryslers at Carlisle. What I'm trying to say is that should it be possible to make a buck?
I know I haven't provided alot of info but it's all I've got right now. I know that AC PS/PB, power accessories, tach, etc will add to the value. Is it worth driving the hour and a half to lookat it in greater detail?
The previous reply to this message was completely uncalled for. It was not representative of what this place is about. If you want to insult, ridicule, and basically offend people....take somewhere else.
My guess is you must be the president of his fan club. Guys like that make it tough to get a decent deal on a MOPAR. I refuse to help people that exploit this hobby.

Re: Enough with the insulting language.
President of his fan club, no. But I happen to be the board administrator. If deleting your reply is considered helping him in your eyes...so be it.
If the man turns a car he runs across and makes a profit he hasn't committed a crime. How many people do the same thing day in and day out? Thousands is my guess; it's called business. He could have bought the car, turned a profit, never said crap to anyone on this board and life wouldn't have come to an end. And if his intentions are to sell the car, maybe, just maybe, he doesn't want to misrepresent the car when he does. Its really none of your, or my, business.
Now seriously ask yourself; did you think for one minute your approach was going to sway his thinking? I hope not.
Re: '69 Road Runner info needed
I am a Ford guy for the most part also, but I have a 69 RR also. The car you referred to is not a bad price. That is what I paid for mine about 12 years ago. Bucket seats and 4-speed are the desirable options. Common rust spots are the bottom of the front and rear windshields, trunk floor, rear quarter panels and rocker panels (under the doors). As far as car data, you need to look for a metal tag on the fender in side the engine compartment (driver side I believe). You will need to get a resource for decoding it. There are web sites that can help you and they also have info in some of the mopar magazines. Originally I was looking for a 68 R/T Charger. I drove from Houston, Texas to San Antonio to look at 2 different ones and I also drove to the Oklahoma state line. Needless to say I gave up on finding a Charger. I saw several Roadrunners at our big annual car show that year and was hooked. Looking back I'm glad I went with a RR. When considering price, you should keep in mind how many of them you see around where you live. They are pretty rare here in this part of the country. Most have some type of rust problem also.
