71-74 cassette option!!!
Hello all....I'm just excited....I bought a 71-74 factory console that was made with the console cassette recorder. Its all there. I have a player that has been reconditioned, so all I have to do is swap the players and swap my console with this one, and just like that I have a console cassette option! I already have the am/fm stereo radio with the pig tail installed..I used a DIN plug on the end of the pig tail so I could use it till I found a set up.

Anyone else here have a set up in their car...or wanting one?

Since my car is a "Just Plain Jane" 318, I wanted something to make it different.

Wish I had one....
I have a two-fender tag 72 Roadrunner and it was originally equipped with a cassette/recorder deck...but all that remains is the mounting holes on the console. It would be cool to put that feature back in, but they were pretty rare and I have never seen one for sale in any condition.

cassette players
Hello....I read your other post about the 72 petty blue you wanted. E-mail me at guestviewer@webtv.net and I will e-mail you a photo of my friends 72 Sebring Plus that is petty blue. My 71 SSP is rallye red, next to that I would want the petty blue...its way cool.

I installed the console and cassette player tuesday, it looks great. I always wanted a 71 Satellite SP, and with the cassette option too. I hope some of the die hards can appreciate it during the shows/cruises.

The console cassette set up is much more rare then the floor set up. I see the floor set up in various conitions on a regular basis. But the console set up is not seen nearly as much. From my experience during the past year looking, for every 7 set ups I found, about 1 was the console set up.

If your serious about wanting the player, I have leads to help you get one. E-mail if your interested to the address at the top of this letter.

Hole Dimensions
I would like to know the proper hole dimension from the front edge of the Console. I have to drill the holes to put mine in and I would like to have it in the right place.

Thanks Larry

Re: Hole Dimensions
Hi Larry

I think I seen you sell a floor unit on eBay. Anyway, make a new post requesting 72bird to send you the dimensions. If he won't, I will. I just hate to take off all brackets and stuff if I don't need too. He (72bird) has the console with the holes, and nothing on top...so all he would need to do is measure. My brackets are the original gold tone.

Does your unit work Larry? I have an extra console set up, but the bottom piece is so rare, I think I best hold on to it just in case.

I'll be watching if 72bird leaves you the dimensions.

Brian
