here goes
Not much if memory serves.

I think production was very low both years, around 8,ooo maybe.

Has the Torsion bars through the trans cross member.

440 cars are called Road Runner GTX.

No stand alone GTX's

73 has the vents in the hood up by the windshield, 74 does not.

Re: 73 or74????????
I beg to differ. Both years have the vents behind the bulge over the fresh air vents. There is no difference in the hoods. The only difference in the 73 & 74 was the roof stripe. 73 was a strobe stripe. 74 had the strobe in the early part of the year and then switched to a solid stripe.

I stand corrected.
My friends 74 GTX does not have vents in the hood .
he is the original owner and it's (the hood) never been replaced.

74 does not have vents in the hood!
:rolleyes I just wanted to say that the first guy was right,..in the fact that 1974 did not have vents in the hood. Trust me I own a 74 roadrunner and did alot of research on it. The picture on the brochure is a 1973 satellite with a 1974 plate. Plymouth made this brochure when the car wasn't even fully produced and using the prior year for the picture. The other thing different between the 2 years that I found out was that the vinal roof on 73(on the brochure) went down past the back window. On the 1974 year it stopped on top at the edge of the rear side window,...known as the "Roadrunner" vinal top. They did that so if you did have a roadrunner you still can have a stripe across the top. and yes not very many roadrunners had it but mine did. Now keep in fact that yes 73 had a stobed stripe and 74 had a solid stripe,..mine is a 74 with a strobed stripe. First production cars of 74 had a strobed stripe the didn't go solid to middle of production.

I have a friend with a 74 RR...can't remember the date but was an early production car. His does have the vents on the hood. Ma must have been using up left over parts in the beginning of the year. And his hood is original to the car.
