Prologue
Angelina hurried through the dimly lit corridor carrying her torch with her. She finally reached her door and pushed it open. She put the torch in its holder beside the door and lit the oil lamp beside her bed. Finally she had done it. Everything she wanted she could now have and there was nothing standing in her way. She dropped her pale blue dress to the floor and crawled into bed thinking of the day to come.

Chapter 1
“Angelina! Wake up!” Blair, Angelina’s servant, yelled.
“What is it?” Angelina hissed.
“It is your sister. She was murdered last night.” Blair laid out some clothes for Angelina. “You need to be prepared for the day.”
“What do you mean she was murdered?” she said wide-eyed.
“I mean someone came into her chamber last night and stabbed her. A true mess they made, I tell you. Those stains will never come out of the cracks of that floor.”
“Oh dear!” Angelina said looking down. “Has my father been made aware of this?”
“Yes. Yes. He was the one who found her. He wanted to see her early before she set out to get married to that prince, Blaine.”
“That is truly awful. My sister was so young and full of life.”
“Yes. Yes she was. Well now it appears you will be marrying Blaine, so get dressed! Hurry up now! You’re father is waiting for you.”
When Blair left the room Angelina smiled to herself. This was truly an amazing day. Even if her sister did have to die for it. Ignoring the pale yellow dress Blair had laid out she pulled on a blood red dress and danced in front of the mirror. She opened the door to her chamber and put on a grieving face as she went to meet her father.

Yes, post more

Saura, I read Ray of Sun too, I just don't usually do feedback lol... I don't like replying to stories, I just like reading them...

I'm never sure what to say, if it will be enough or if I will offend the writer.

ANGELINA'S STORY Ch 2
You do not have to reply much.. just say post more or something that is all.. :)
----------------------

Chapter 2
“Angelina, sweetheart.” Her father said walking up to her and putting his arms around her. “I take it you’ve heard the news of your sister?”
Angelina looked down at her feet and let a few tears fall down her cheeks, “Yes Father, I have.”
Her father lifted her head up and looked into her eyes sadly, “You do realize what this means, don’t you? It means you will have to take Skye’s place and marry Blaine.”
A flush came to Angelina’s cheeks.
“I know it is not what you want to do but you must do it for the family. If we do not make this alliance with the Hamilton clan, we could lose everything we’ve worked for. You understand don’t you?”
“Yes father, I understand. I must do it for the family.”
“That’s my girl.” Her father kissed her on the cheek. “Well I must go take care of Skye’s funeral arrangements. You will begin your journey around noon. Be ready.”
Angelina watched her father walk out the room. By the way he was swaggering she could tell he had already had too much whiskey.
“Stupid drunk.” She muttered.
She turned to walk outside through the large doors when Blair ran up to her.
“Angelina, you need to get your stuff packed and ready. You will be leaving shortly.”
“Isn’t that your job?” Angelina hissed.
“My lady!” Blair said taken aback. “I know not what you want to take. You can’t take everything so you must only pack the few things you want.”
Angelina glared at Blair angrily, “Fine. I’ll go pack.”

Angelina walked up the stone steps to her chamber and opened the door. She was glad she was leaving this hellhole. She looked around the small room bitterly. There was nothing she really wanted from this room. Everything she had ever wanted, Skye had taken from her. Her father had spent much money on Skye, got her everything she wanted. But when it came to Angelina her father always said they didn’t have enough money. Well guess what! Now she would have everything she wanted. She was marrying a rich prince and he would certainly provide well for her. Angelina stuffed a few dresses and a letter from her mother into a case and closed it.
She heard a knock on her door.
“My lady?”
It was Blair. Could the woman not leave her alone for a minute?
“Yes?” she said with some annoyance.
“Are you ready? The carriage awaits you to take you to Prince Blaine’s castle.”

Sighing she traced his name on her leg. He was such a wonderful man. He was very handsome with the greenest eyes anyone had ever seen. She had hoped for this day for as long as she could remember. She remembered the first day that she had met Blaine. She was seven and he was twelve. He was quite the charmer back then. She loved him from the minute she met him but he of course had fallen for Skye. Everyone thought Skye was the pretty one. Everyone loved Skye. She didn’t love Skye. She was glad she was dead.

“Miss? Are you in there? You really must hurry.” Blair said through the door.
“Fine! I’m coming!” Angelina yelled.
Angelina swung open the door to her room, knocking Blair to the ground. She tried not to laugh at the sight of the women on the floor.
“Blair, Oh I’m so sorry. I didn’t realize you were still standing there.”
“It’s quite all right. No need to worry, I’m fine.”
“Well that’s good. I hope my carriage hasn’t left without me.”
“Of course it hasn’t.” Blair said quietly.

Angelina and Blair walked down the stone stairs quickly.
“You’ll have a lot of explaining to do to the Prince when you see him.”
“Why?”
“Well, he’s not going to expect you. He will be expecting Skye, and he doesn’t know Skye is dead. So it may be quite a shock for him when you step out of the carriage.”
“He will get over soon enough. He’ll learn to love me and not Skye. I know he will.”
“Yes, but it might not be as soon as you think it will be. He really did love Skye. You could see it in the way he looked at her. Truly amazing.”
“Blair, could you shut-up talking about my sister? She’s dead, get over it.”
Blair stared at Angelina for a moment. Something was different in her. Something devious was behind those brown eyes of hers, she just couldn’t place a finger on it.
“Yes, my lady.”
“Why are you staring at me like that? You are making me angry. Please go somewhere and clean or something.”
“I can’t, my lady. I’m coming with you.”
“What? What do you mean you are coming with me? Prince Blaine has his own servants, he certainly doesn’t need another running around.”
“Your father thought it would be best for you to have someone around that you are familiar with.”
Angelina clenched her teeth together, “Very well then.”

Angelina stepped outside and looked around her for her father. He was nowhere in sight.
“Where is my father?” She asked Allan, the horse keeper.
“My lady. He is inside. He said he had already said his good-byes to you and that he was going to rest.”
Figures she thought to herself. Oh but if it was Skye going away he would be out here in a heartbeat not thinking twice about it.

The carriage driver opened the door and she stepped inside, followed by Blair. She was now leaving this place which she so much detested.

ANGELINA'S STORY Ch 3-5
Chapter 3
“We’re almost there.” Angelina heard the carriage driver announce.
Great, she thought, her new life was about to begin.
The carriage stopped abruptly and she fell forwards a little ways.
“We are now here.” The carriage driver said opening the door.
She stepped out of the carriage and looked at the large castle standing before her. Her new home was beautiful, unlike her old one, which was ugly and drab. She spotted Prince Blaine walking towards her. She put on her best smile and curtsied.
Prince Blaine looked at her confused, “Angelina, where is Skye? Is she still in the carriage.”
Angelina took the smile from her face, “Prince, my sister was killed last night in her sleep. My father found her this morning and he said I was to take her place, which is custom nowadays.”
She watched as Blaine struggled to keep from crying, “Murdered? By whom?”
“We’ve no idea, your highness.” Blair said stepping in.
“And you are?” Blaine asked.
Blair bowed, “I’m Blair, Angelina’s servant.”
“Oh, well, I will have my help gather your stuff and carry it to your rooms.”

Blaine turned on his heel and nodded to his servants. They hurriedly gathered Angelina’s and Blair’s luggage and went towards the palace. Blaine went up to Angelina and thread his arm with hers.
“Princess.” He whispered.
Angelina looked up at him and smiled, “Sir.”
Blaine and Angelina began walking towards the castle followed by Blair who was thinking about the sudden change in Angelina. “Something strange is going on with that girl, something very strange and I mean to find out.” Blair muttered to herself.

Chapter 4

2 months later
“Blair! Blair!” Angelina yelled throughout the castle
“Where was that blasted woman?” she muttered. “She’s always around when I don’t want her to be but when I do want her she’s not anywhere to be found.” At that moment she saw Madeline washing the floor.
“Madeline.” She said.
“Yes, my lady?” Madeline said meekly looking down at the floor.
“Look at me when I speak to you.” Angelina hissed.
Madeline looked up at Angelina and she could see the fear behind the girl’s eyes. Why was everyone so damn scared of her, she wondered.
“Madeline, have you seen Blair? I’ve been looking everywhere for her but she’s no where to be found.”
“You ordered her down to the cellar for a bottle of wine.”
“The cellar? Are you sure?”
“Yes, my lady.”
“Very well then. Thank you.” Angelina turned around and headed towards the kitchen. She walked through the wooden doors and crossed the floor and went down the rickety steps to the cellar.
“Blair?” she asked in the darkness. “Blair?” Cellars always terrified her. She never knew what sort of creatures lived in them and didn’t want to know. God forbid a large spider falls from the ceiling and land on her head. They’d be giving her a funeral tomorrow if such a thing happened.
“Yes, my lady?”
“Blair, could you possibly find me some parchment? I would like to start a journal of sorts. I’ve got a few things on my mind that I need to get off.”
Blair watched Angelina in the darkness and the whites of her eyes dart back and forth.
“Certainly. Anything else you would like?”
“No, not right now.”
Angelina turned and nearly ran up the stairs of the cellar and out the door.

Chapter 5
“Here you go, my lady. Here is the parchment you asked for.”
“Thank you, Blair. You wouldn’t happen to know where any ink is, would you? I seem to have misplaced mine somewhere.”
“My lady, it’s right here in front of you.” Blair looked at Angelina wanting to ask if she was O.K. but knew the scene that would result from it.
Angelina looked down at the desk before her blankly, “So, it is.” Funny, she hadn’t seen it. Her eyes must be playing tricks on her.
“If you would excuse me, I’d like to be alone.”
“Very well. Call if you need anything.”

Journal Entry 1
Something haunts my memory. I know not what it is. I know it must be something truly horrible for it to bother me so. I know not if it was something I did or something I saw. I do know that it is causing me to lose sleep at night and I have no one to comfort me. My husband is always gone on one of his hunting trips and doesn’t come back for weeks at a time. I fear that I may lose him if something does not change.

Angelina gathered the pieces of parchment together, found a piece of leather and tied them together. Finally something of my own, she thought to herself. Something that will only be mine, no one will ever read this. She hugged the small book she had made to her chest then covered it with her pillow. She crawled into the bed and pulled the covers up over her head to fall into a restless sleep.

The figure chased her up and down the corridor calling her name. Telling her it would have its revenge. She tried to scream for someone to help her but no one came. They all stayed to the sides, watching her with grins on their faces. She tried to reach out to them, she tried to touch them, but she couldn’t. Every time she tried they kept getting further and further away.

MORE TO COME!! :)

Chapter 6-8
Chapter 6

Angelina awoke screaming in the early hours of the morning. She put her hand to her chest and felt her rapid heartbeat. She then put her hands to her forehead and wiped the sweat that was there away, just as she did every morning before this. She took a long drink of the water beside her bed and sat the cup back down. The dream scared her. It scared her beyond her wildest imaginings. Every night was the same. She’d go to bed and dream the horrible dream. Something small would always be different about the dream. Some new detail would be revealed to her that wasn’t before and she would always try to piece the puzzle together, hoping she could find an explanation for the dream. Most nights she was terrified to go to bed. She didn’t want to keep having the dreams.

Angelina stood up out of bed and walked over to the window, staring out of it. She watched as the sun rose and a few birds flew around looking for bits of food someone may have dropped. She sensed someone behind her. She turned around and Blaine was standing behind her. He was back from his hunting trip. After many weeks away he was home. She looked down tentatively and he strode over to the bed and lay down.
“Hi.” She whispered.
“Hey.” He said closing his eyes.
She looked up with tears in her eyes. He didn’t love her, he only put up with her because it was what he had to do. She wanted him to love her, to hold her, but she knew he wouldn’t. He still loved Skye, her dead sister. He would never love her.

Angelina felt herself lifting up off the floor and before she knew it the room blackened out.

Chapter 7

“Angelina!”
Angelina slowly opened her eyes and stared up at Blaine.
“Angelina, you’re awake.”
“Of course I’m awake! What happened?”
Blair stepped up to the bed, “You tried to jump out the window.”
Angelina stared at both of them, “You’re crazy! I wouldn’t try to jump out of a window.”
“Well, you did.” Blaine said looking at her. “Why?”
Angelina looked down at the bed cover, “I don’t know why.”
Blaine and Blair watched in both horror and fascination as Angelina began shaking uncontrollably.
“My lady! What is wrong?” Blair grabbed Angelina’s shoulders to try and calm her.
“Get away from me! Leave me alone!” Angelina began kicking and screaming as loudly as she could. She hit Blair in the face, sending her back a few paces.
Blair stood in shock as Blaine tried to control Angelina.
“Angelina! Look at me!” Blaine forcefully turned her head to look at him. “What is wrong with you?”
Angelina eyed him with hatred so strong he had to let go of her. This wasn’t Angelina. Something had taken over her. Her eyes were no longer just brown, he could see hints of red in them.
Blaine stepped back and whispered, “Angelina.”
The red started fading in her eyes and Blaine could see the real Angelina now. He sat down cautiously on the bed, “Are you all right?”
“Yes, why wouldn’t I be?”
Both Blaine and Blair stared at Angelina skeptically, “Are you sure?”
“Yes.”

Blaine and Blair stepped back and watched as Angelina’s eyes darkened to a reddish color again.
“Tell them.” They heard Angelina hiss in a voice not her own.
“Tell them what?” Angelina asked herself, frightened.
“Tell them what you did.”
“I didn’t do anything!” she screamed
“Angelina,” Blair said stepping back further from the bed. “are you all right? Who are you talking to?”
“You know what you did! Now tell them!”
Angelina started crying. “No!”
“You have to tell them.” The voice from Angelina hissed.

Both Blaine and Blair stared in horror as Angelina argued with herself.

“Tell them, or I will!”
“I have nothing to tell! I’ve done nothing!”
“You lie!”
“No!” Angelina said, her eyes widening.
“Tell them about that night, Angelina. Tell them about the night your murdered me. Tell them how you raised the knife above me while I was sleeping!”
“No, I didn’t!”
“Yes you did! You murdered me, Angelina. You murdered your own sister! You murdered your sister out of jealous spite.”
“No! I wouldn’t kill her!”

The visions began flashing in Angelina’s mind. She remembered clearly now. She remembered sneaking off to the kitchen to get the large cutting knife and hiding it in her room until it was time. When everyone had fallen asleep she had crept out of her room brandishing the knife in front of her. She remembered opening the door to her sister’s chamber slowly and staring down at her as she slept. She had lifted the knife and plunged it deep into her sister’s chest, over and over again. The blood had seeped quickly through her sister’s nightdress and onto the bedcovers. She immediately dropped the knife and ran from the room.

“You remember now.”
“That wasn’t me.”
“But dear sister, it was you. It was all you. You killed me. You couldn’t stand the fact that EVERYONE loved me and not you!”
Angelina shook her head hard, “No! Someone else killed you! It wasn’t me! It couldn’t!”
“Well guess what! It was. Now you will pay. I will have my revenge, just as I promised, but yours will be most painful. Everyone will see your death!”

Angelina looked up through her tears and saw Blaine staring at her with two guards behind him. There were tears in his eyes when he looked at her.
“Please, take Angelina to the death chamber and prepare her.”
“But, your majesty. This is your wife.”
“Yes, I know, but she killed the one woman I loved more than anything and for that she will die.”
“NO!” Angelina screamed. “I didn’t kill her! It was someone else!”
“You just admitted to us all that it was you.” Blaine said motioning towards the guards.
The guards stepped forward and dragged her off the bed.
“Please! You have to believe me!”
Angelina tried to wrench free but the men were too strong. They dragged her down the stone steps and led her to the death chamber.

Chapter 8

Angelina sat in her chamber and rocked back and forth. “It wasn’t me. It wasn’t me.” She muttered over and over again. She hoped for something or someone to save her. No one came though.

The Next Day

“Miss Angelina. You must wake up. It is time.” The male voice said.
Angelina lifted her head groggily and wiped the sleep from her eyes. Then it all came rushing back to her. She began crying uncontrollably.
“I will not go!” she screamed. “I didn’t do it!”
“Nothing you say will save you. The Prince thinks you’ve committed the crime so now you will lose your head.”
“No.” she slumped to the floor and covered her face.
“Now get up. You’re only delaying it. You can’t stop it.”
“Please you’ve got to help me. You have to get me out of here. You can’t let them do this!” she pleaded.
“There’s nothing I can do for you. Nothing at all.”
He grabbed her arm and began pulling her out of her cell.
Angelina grabbed the bars of the cell and wouldn’t let go. She clung desperately to them, hoping for a miracle. A miracle didn’t come though. The man yanked her free of the bars and half dragged half carried her outside to be guillotine.

Everyone was staring at her as she was dragged with her hands tied behind her. She walked with her head down and tears streaming down her face. The men walked her up the wooden steps and she knelt before the wooden structure. Before she laid her head down she looked around until she found Prince Blaine. He was staring intently at her. She turned her head and laid it in the small opening. She struggled not to cry.
“I told you your time would come.” The voice whispered in her head.
Then before she knew what was happening she heard the whooshing of the blade from its resting-place then everything went black.

The End.
