And We're Off!My Font
New human friend to a Missouri Fox Trotter. His name is Nitro. At the moment Nitro isn't in any shape to be hauling anyone around anywhere (we just rescued him and he is well under weight and needs lots of TLC which he is getting tons of already). As a kid and young adult, I had your basic paint, quarter-horse and appy. They all rode in a western saddle (mainly long horn or big horn ropers or a cirle Y). Here is my question (first among many). What is the difference in a roping saddle and a saddle for a gaited horse? Since Nitro is a gaited horse, (when he is back to health) must I ride him in a gaited saddle and would riding him in a roping saddle really make that much difference? These questions may seem silly to some of you, and if so, then before you begin shaking your head and go off thinking I'm some kind of nut, I employ you to think of this, if in your next life you came back as a gaited horse and was the boss to someone as inexperienced in gaited horses as I am, wouldn't you sleep better at night knowing that your human friend was trying to do what was going to be best and most comfortable for you as possible?
