Apologies, reminders and promises. But mostly apologies.
I'm posting my support of Weasel's decision to edit out the last Foster bashing post.
Despite the fact that I did think it was amusing, at the end of the day it was a personal vendetta and had no place on this board the purpose of which is for satanists and people interested in satanism to come and talk about the issues which effect them.
Too much space has been taken up already by troll bashing. The longest threads have been trollbashing threads but really they should be threads which centre around proper discussion.
I blame myself for this mostly. The most active I have been is when I'm jumping down someone's throat. I don't regret telling people off but if I spent half as much time stimulating real discussion as I do troll-bashing then this might be a very active board.
Recently I have felt very disillusioned with a lot of matters personal to me. I'll be putting the effort back in again soon when I can clear my head.
But I'm not the only one with obligations to liven things up.
I'm not pointing the finger at anyone, please understand that this is intended more as an apology on my part for not redressing the balance. I'm taking responsibility for my own failings. But I believe the board can be better than this.
A discussion does not have to be about the Satanic Bible or Anton La Vey in order for it to be satanic. We should be discussing everything.
Anyway I mainly wanted to say sorry for not doing my part properly and as soon as I can I will be trying to contribute in a way which I hope will liven things up and which will show that I can live up to the moderator badge. Edited by: HelenMD at: 6/20/03 9:09 pm

I think I missed those posts that were deleted so I am not sure what you are refering to but I agree the board has quitened down over the last few weeks. Let's try and get things a bit busier.

Foster bashing
It was some guy who has never posted here before. He posted up a picture of someone mooning and, as it appeared, Ed Foster was coming out of the bared butt.
It was funny but Weasel is right it didn't belong.
I agree with what you are saying and we do need to liven things up a little. You are not solely to blame for this of course but I also want to encourage you to NOT stop troll bashing. I actually think that when you are troll bashing a lot of interesting points are made and they stand as examples for the proper decorum of a discussion board. Also they are entertaining. I know people that come here to check out the board just to see if anyone has pissed you off lately. Now when you and Nephele were a double act then we pulled in more hehe.
Other reasons for the drop off in posts are that now we are no longer gold we rank lower in the forum searches. We are however now linked to the main board so we're likely to get a little more traffic from there. I'll check the stats later. Also with the current situation with the council there is a certain lull of anticipation. People don't really want to commit until we unveil the new directions the council are moving in. Its my hope that when all is revealed this board will be essentially as it was before with the addition of a few new topics.
Finally of course I can't expect members to be doing things that I am not. So I do need to make the commitment to post more. With my conference out of the way now this is more likely to happen. I will be redesigning the website and writing my thesis etc. but I hope to devote more time to the board and the e-list soon. The e-list is more flat than this board so thats my main concern at the moment.
After I have renewed the gold status to this board I will try to invigorate discussion on the e-list. A new website will help out with all of this. Which I will probably start working on after the I've met with other council members next week.
