All these injuries, and we're still over .500 with a realistic shot at still catching the division or wild card...especially with D Lee and a healthy Aram. Imagine if Nomar and Prior and Woody didnt all get hurt.

You guys have no exuse for being as pathetic as you are.

The Astros have the best excuse. They arent that good. The starting pitching 1-4 is great, but the rest of the team is average at best and the bullpen blows.

The Astros will trade Clemens to a contender and get Top MLB ready prospects and will be back in 2006 better than they have been in 2005. It was time for the Astros to retool anyway.

The Cubs aint catching the Cards or winning the Wild Card. The Cubs are the Cubs and Dusty is a horrible manager.

D. Lee is by the way the best 1st baseman in MLB this season and deserves to start ahead of Pujols in the All Star Game. He is on fire. Without him and the Cubs would be fighting with the Astros for the bottom spot.

2005 Astros.. A work in progress... We hope!

Nah, without Wood and Prior the Cubs are on fire right now - imaigne when they have Wood back ina few weeks - not to mention Prior is throwing again.
A healthy 1-5 of Wood, Prior, Zambrano, Maddux, Rusch will make the cubs, along with their potent offense, a force to be reckoned with in the second half and beyond.

We have a closer and a bullpen now to. Wellemeyer, Dempster, Weurtz, Ohman and Bartosh are really shaping up well.

The lineup features the BEST batting average in the NL, which is what killed us last year. Last year it was all the homerun. This year it is the home run plus the base hits. With walkerback in everyday, and Neifi and Lee and Ramirez, the lineup has been what we've expected in Chicago for awhile now.

By far the scariest team going for the wild card, and still only 5.5 behind the red birds.
