Attack of the Clones.
Not wrestling related, but I saw the opening session of Attack of the Clones in Melbourne, Australia, a midnight session on Wednesday.
Excellent improvement on The Phantom Menace, although the love-story tended to drag a bit. The opening 30 minutes was also a bit slow and cliched, and Obi Wan seemed to get a drop to the midcard. Hayden Christenssen, who played Anakin, started very moderately, but got better as the movie went on - particularly as he started to get bitter.
However, Attack of the Clones (shocking title, btw) should've been the FIRST movie. The second should've detailed Anakin's cross over to the Dark Side, ending the movie with him in the service of the Emperor/Senator Palpatine. And the third movie should've been about the hunt for the Jedi with the assistance of Anakin, climaxing with him in some sort of prototype Darth Vader suit.
As it is, am worried 130 minutes (for the Third Movie) won't be enough to finish the story.
Just as an aside, but with the Star Wars Movies, but why doesn't Lucas make two versions?
Whenever The Phantom Menace focused on the Jedi and politics, it was great. Whenever it returned to Jar Jar and Anakin, it was kiddy-crap.
They must film 10-12 hours of footage, so why not cut two versions - an Adult version and a kids-version. And it's not like people wouldn't see both anyway.
And just on that, but if you really think about it, The Phantom Menace contributed nothing which couldn't have been accomplished in Attack of the Clones.

Re: Attack of the Clones.
In a way, I completely see what you're saying, & yet, I am not 100% in agreement with you...maybe 90% though.
Lucas had a LOT of characters to introduce. Just as we have bashed the WWE for excluding THEIR character-development process, I personally have to applaude Lucas's efforts in that area.
I *do* fully see your point, re: Jedi/politics =vs= JarJar/KiddieCrap, but looking at things from a business perspective, I'm not all that sure that dividing the different aspects into completely separate filme would've resulted in the same returns for Lucas at the box office.
I think he was attempting to "be all things to all the fans", if that makes any sense... He may have failed in your eyes, but succeeded, in his own.
One of his biggest problems has to be the very unique framework that the STAR WARS series consists of...everything was done in reverse.
Ultimately, this formula has to be very problematic...NOBODY can possibly think of EVERYTHING at the very beginning of a 6-part film series, so Lucas has undoubtedly been *kicking* himself on a daily basis...
"WHY didn't I do it THIS way?!!" ...etc, etc.
I definitely see some problems tying everything up with just the one remaining slot Lucas has at his disposal.
But yet...if the movie itself kicks beau coup butt, will anybody really care much if it's named STAR WARS III-v2.0 ???
Least of all, George "Let's take a LONG walk around all of my money!" Lucas.
