Austin - FIRED
The following is from WWE.com:

On March 18, 2002, the day after WrestleMania, without company approval and without notice, Stone Cold Steve Austin walked off the job and failed to appear at WWE’s Raw show in Montreal. Stone Cold Steve Austin was advised by WWE management that this was unprofessional and unacceptable. After a two week hiatus, Austin returned to work.

On Monday, June 10, 2002, Stone Cold Steve Austin again failed to appear for the scheduled Raw event in Atlanta, instead choosing to return home to San Antonio without notice and without company approval.

Although Steve was unhappy with his character’s creative direction, Steve made the personal and unprofessional decision not to report to work to address his concerns.

Therefore, Stone Cold Steve Austin is no longer an active member of WWE’s talent roster.

Re: Austin - FIRED
Is he fired or suspended? It really did not clarify in the story. Either way WOW, good for the WWE for sticking up to him. Is HHH next or even the UT? What a messege for them to send out, reminding everyone that anyone is replacable.

The WWE could also be taking into consideration Austin's knee's and neck. I personally liked his style better once he came back from his neck injury(it was more like his WCW style, less fighting and more tech.). However, it was not as over with the more markish fans and he never bounced totally back. They really could be using his attitude as an excuse.

WOW...this really *is* BIG NEWS...ya gotta *know* that TIO's gonna be happy.
:)

I heard about this, but I originally thought that it was all just a work, but now that I have seen this, it looks pretty legitimate.

Personally, I haven't liked ANYTHING about the *cough* creative *cough* direction in the WWE, so I can see Austin's reasoning there...besides that, he has to be set for LIFE, monetarily. The WWE needs him FAR more than he needs THEM...

Although I can see Marie's point about sending everybody else a message that nobody is irreplaceable....I can see Austin's message to *them* to either $HIT OR GET OFF OF THE POT as being more to MY way of thinking...

Get Steph-infection of of the damned writing team, & hire some writers that know what the hell they're doing. Pro Wrestling is becoming little more than a Gladiator-style Jerry Springer show, complete with softcore pornography for giddy teenaged boys.

God knows that us adults aren't at all interested in that weak teasing cr@p. We're allowed to have all of the pr0n that we want. Its everywhere we look, besides.

Hehehehe!
Actually, I classify Austin up there with Goldy - if used correctly then they can be tremendous assets. But letting them waltz around, not selling or jobbing, and doing what they like, well it gets very tired very quickly.

I wonder how much Austin's decision was influenced by the return of HBK. HBK's had a few years to recuperate, and it wouldn't take much for him to be in better condition that Austin. Hell, Hogan's in better condition than Austin.

And now, he's beating up his wife, the cop's were called and Debra admitted that it's not the first time, but because of his "celebrity status",she hesitated calling in the past.

Celebrity status be damned. If he's a wife beater, he should be in jail.

Re: bastard
Thanks for the story, Rhiannon. The thought of Austin hitting Debra makes me wanna kick his ass myself. I'm sure TIO would have my back, to prevent any runins, if not join in with a few boots to the ribs.

:( What a prick. :(

Re: Austin.
Imagine the reaction Austin would get if he returned. I know the WWE's said they could never envision bringing him back, but this is also the Company which has said, "Never say never." It'd probably pop their ratings, and as far as WWE's concerned I bet ratings would help them overcome any scruples.

However, I think they should insult Austin, and his legacy in WWE. They should hire Mongo McMichaels to take his spot and gimmick. I couldn't think of anything more than insulting than that.

As for having your back, Tarl, no problem. After we beat him down, we'll spray his head with superglue and stick one of those rainbow-afro's onto his head.

Mwahahahahahaha~!!!

LOVE the Mongo-idea, but just picturing Austin in a rainbow-fro is hysterical. Perhaps we can find a pretty dress to go with it... :)
