BC High School Bond Issue
How do you feel about the $7 million bond issue to build a new stadium, ag building, baseball field, etc.? Why was this not included in the original bond election? Could it be they seriously underestimated the cost of the new high school, or did they think the voters would have defeated it in the first place because it was too costly? Are we being manipulated?

BC High School Bond Issue
All good questions. I have no answers - just an observation. Seems to me that Community Involvement is really putting all its' eggs in one shiny, new basket. Can't get anyone with money interested in coming to Bay City except for athletic competitions, so go all-out in that direction. The rest of us still have to travel to Houston if we can't find what we need at Wal-Mart or HEB. I don't think that will ever change.

High School Bond Issue
Check out www.bcblackcats.net (BCISD Homepage). Click on FAQs on the Sept. 28th Bond Issue and see for yourself. Like I said, all in a shiny new basket. I hope they plan to include more entrance/exit streets to accomodate the "thousands" of vehicles they expect to attend athletic events. They can't even move their daily traffic efficiently now.
High School Bond Issue
Bay City has only one entrance so they can keep an eye on the students and try and catch anyone leaving campus. As far as the new bond issue.......well.....it's going to have to be passed in order to get more parking spaces for the students. Old High School had 500 spaces and that wasn't enough so they built a new High School with 300 spaces. This is in no way logical but I am under the impression that they did this in order to get the stadium bond issued. I'm not real sure where the $5.00 parking permit fee (per student) goes to.
