BE WARY OF ONE2HOST
I just want to give everyone a quick FYI...
If you by chance are going to open up a website and need a host, do NOT use one2host.com. They were the cheapest web-hosts around, and they make you prepay for a year in advance, but when it comes to the actual service, it sucks. My email service is rarely up, my site is down at least one day a week and the extras they advertised are not available. The only way to get in touch with them is online (through chat [which is always busy] or by online tickets) and they don't answer you for 2 weeks after you put a ticket in (I've put in 5 so far and except for once, each time took at least 2 weeks to get a reply). And when they do reply, they don't give you the correct answer or tell you to use your control panel (which is another useless hellhole on it's own). At one point I even accidentally got into their customer database through their website which left me wondering about the integrity of their security. So basically, DON'T USE one2host. THEY SUCK ASS.
Sorry about that... I just needed to vent a little frustration and anger...

P.S. Please pass the word along, I don't want anyone to get scammed....
I can wholeheartedly backup these comments. They started and were great and now they are complete, unreliable rubbish. They keep losing my websites, changing IP addresses and not telling me (this has happened for 3 different domains, so it is not unique)
I transferred a domain to them for the complete package and they failed to re-register it, resulting in a detagging, which I am now having to persue through nominet to retagg (in the meantime: no site)
They are impossible to contact: chat support never works and there is not even an address let alone a phone number to write formally to complain to.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE SHARKS!

Stay Away From One2Host.com!!
There is no doubt that all these complaints are valid! I have been with one2host.com for over a year and have had nothing but trouble. They were supposedly going through upgrades to be able to deliver a better service….which I have yet to experience. When they were going through the changes they never notified me to tell me that my sites would be down for days at a time. When I tried to contact them on this matter there so called 24 hour response time turned into 3 to 4 days. It seems that my sites are down almost as much as they are up. My next step is to start moving ALL my sites back to the host I used in the past. One that will be there when I need them and really do have a 98% up time not just claim too. One2host is the cheapest around but if you want people to be able to count on your site being there when they go to it then find another host.
CHEAPER IS NOT BETTER!!

Re: same problems with them !
Im having the same problems. I am wondering now how I get control of my domain name to change it over to a newsite?
I got screwed by One2host as well!
Here is a copy of a recent "trouble ticket" I was replied to by one2host.
"I would like to cancel my service with you and would like a refund please. I opened the account with you on Mon, 25 Nov 2002 07:06:45 GMT
and I am not satisfied.
On 12/8/2002 One2host.com added
Unfortunately your request for a refund was made past our seven day money back so we are unable to issue a refund to your account. Please refer to our terms and conditions.
We can however cancel your account.
Please advise
Thank you
One2host Team"
I am amazed at the wonderfull cheery response I recieved and am overjoyed that they would be so kind as to keep my money but still cancel my account!
This will be disputed with my bank-to no end I'm sure! I would love to leave a flamming bag of poo on thier doorstep. Ridiculous behaviour and stupid policies. whats weird is I picked them because I hadn't had any problems with a different site. but then I just built that site and wasn't actively going there everyday so I didn't notice the lack of service that they provided there as well as far as I'm concerned I got screwed and flushed $48+ down a UK toilet but ahhh yes I have unlimited bandwith so I can flush that much more so I feel all warm and fuzzy. Stay away from these crooks they have no interest in customer service, return sales or good business practices. 7 day return policy? I was 11 days------Yeah----look out don't do it its not worth it and it is cheap for a reason.

Yipcha: I just got that exact same e-mail from them.

My site was recently down for SEVEN DAYS, and goes down at least once a day. They suck. I intend to tell everyone I can about these scam artists.

My site was recently down for SEVEN DAYS, and routinely goes down at least once a day. They claim to have 98% uptime and that they will reply to your "ihelp" requests within 24 hours...neither is true.

Our site (hosted on a Unix server) and email has been down since the 26th of July 2003 (which means more than 3 weeks of inactivity now!). Another site hosted on windows has been on and off for the past month too.
After repeated attempts at contacting them, the only answer I got from one2host is that (i) they had been under a Denial of Service attack (ii) they were moveing their servers to the US.
No firm date has been given as to when they plan to bring back their normal service.
That seems all quite dodgy to me.
So saty away from one2host if you can!
