Max gets the shock of his young life when Tess tells him that they are going to be parents. The news comes on the heels of the couple's first public display of affection as Max (Jason Behr) escorts Tess (Emilie de Ravin) down the halls of their high school. With his arm around his latest flame, the alien king strolls through the parting sea of students and onlookers, including Michael, Kyle and a very annoyed Isabel. The announcement of their impending parenthood comes later that evening when Tess discloses her condition to Max. However, the extraterrestrial pregnancy yields unexpected complications---Earth's atmosphere proves inhospitable to the unborn child. Singer Nelly Furtado has a cameo.
EWWWW...public display of affection?!?! Glad Michael, Kyle and Isabel are disgusted with it as well! And we KNOW Liz is! Need...the...spew...guy! Excuse me while I go find a place to vomit!

The ep started out really great, then kinda fell apart. Max and Isabel's reconciliation at the end seemed rushed - Katie sounded like she was reading her lines, which is very rare for her. <shrug> Anyhoo, here are some thoughts. I'm sure I'll have more once I've rewatched it. BTW - am I going to discuss this ep alone again??? IMM, Neeners and Brian - I will not be left alone - do you hear me??? Ooo, it's getting late and past my bed time.
* Loved Kyle spying on Max and Tess in the morning with the blanket over his head! Loved Valenti sending Tess to her room and Max home. Even if they are king and queen of some other planet, they are still teenagers on this planet and the rules still apply.
* Tess just freaked me out in this ep. She just plain scares me. How convenient when they were in the pod chamber and Max was having doubts that she had a sudden pain and he touched her and "saw" his son. Um hmm. <shudder> She's creepy.
* Could Max be any more hostile to Liz? Too bad they broke up the eps with Off the Menu (WTF?) and we won't get to see him grovel back to her now that we know she was right.
* I thought Jason did a wonderful job of acting nervous and uncertain at the beginning of the ep. He was making me nervous!
* Kyle seems to get an unholy pleasure out of tormenting Max, even if he did have to do it via Isabel. Love the year book picture!
* Loved Isabel yelling at Kyle for quoting Buddah. It was long over due!
* I loved the look on Isabel's face when she had stuck Max's feet to the floor. At first it was just plain "take that, @$$hole" but then you could see the futility on her face. I also liked that she didn't want to hear about him sleeping with Tess when he didn't want to hear any of her problems before. You go, girl!
* Jason did a wonderful job with Max's little breakdown with the garbage cans. It was heart-wrenching to see him admit that he felt as though he had done something stupid.
Um, I've lost the ability to think. Must go to bed. I have a horrid fear that Off the Menu is just going to not make sense plopped in the middle like this. So, we leave Tess sweating and in pain and she is just going to pop into the next ep like nothing has happened? Wow, I want to be a PTB, because I could make dumb-@$$ decisions like that, too. I don't get it. I think I'll go back to my original theory that they've been sabotaging this show all along. It's the only thing that makes sense. <Yawn> Good night.

Ok.. Karen sorry that you felt alone last thread.. but ummm hmmm finals are on their way here... YUCK!
I really didn't mind this one about the whole baby thing.. Didn't they use that same "noise" when Tess mind warps when Max had his hand on the baby? That is what I thought. and the hand thing on the belly (baby hand) I thought that was lame.... or mind warp... one or the other.. cuz if its not a mind warp then this is way to lame for me to deal with.
My favorite line comes from Michael..
Alien harpies... HA HA I laughed my butt off at that one! Figures that would come out of Michael's mouth!
OK.. MAX crawl back to Liz on your hands and knees and BEG and PLED for her forgiveness.. I think she has proven her point about Alex being murdered... Hmmmm could someone all ready know what the book says... and didn't want the Royals to get it? So they killed Alex.. with out knowing he all ready sent it to whom ever that girl is.. she must be some type of Alien because that little bomb thing... wasn't of this earth... and when it blew up.. it did the oval symbol.. or at least that was how I saw it...
Jason did do a wonderful job... so did everyone.. Karen I am with you on that look that Iz gave Max in the classroom.. I loved it!!! I think we are missing some parts at the end.. Something just wasn't right.. something was missing... I don't know.. maybe its just me.. but it did seemed rushed so I think they cut some things out...

OH Karen.. we went to the fan photo day at the Dbacks.. and I have to say Brian Anderson has the BEST sense of humor.. what a down right funny man... My sons had their pictures taken with him... He seems to be the one everyone plays jokes on... so you know .. if someone can deal with that.. You have to have a good sense of humor. He has a shaving cream pie thrown in his face ON TV.. and didn't bat an eye and just kept on talking.. like nothing happened... of course then he had to clean it off cuz it was menthol! ha ha

Okay, I rewatched part of this this morning before I went to work...insomnia, it's a b*tch.
*So just who is Leanna (or whatever her name was)? Why did Alex trust her enough to send the transcript to her? Will we ever find out who she is?
*How did Alex get the book since it was in the pod chamber and only a member of the pod squad can open it?
*Will Kyle wake up some morning with only one testicle? (sorry, had to throw that one in there)
*When Isabel comes across Max spazzing with the trash, she apologized because she didn't know what he'd been going through...but he wasn't going through any of that last week when he was being a <expletive deleted> to her. Lame.
* IMM - I kind of liked the handprint, although that kid must have huge hands compared to the rest of it!
*The thing with the centerfold was cheesy, however, Kyle did deliver one of my favorite lines - "I'm the towel boy - the showers are this way"
Still don't know how OTM is going to gel with this ep and the last one. Imagine tossing in an ep from last year between The White Room and Destiny. Confusing.
IMM - Cool that you got to meet BA! Some people say he suffers from an over-abundence of personality! Nick Wechsler was here in Cleveland about a month ago and I missed him

OK... Karen.. since everyone else is MIA... we can discuss this show...
Now that I think of it... who did give the book to Alex... how did he get his hands on it.. Although... remember he was on to translating it last year.. Ummm God what show was that? When Michael gets sick they go to River Dog... etc... Well in the beginning.. Alex is in the UFO center with Iz telling her that he had seen the symbols somewhere and that they were like American Indian lang. He wanted to figure it out then but they hadn't found the book yet... Hmmm weird... And yes who is this girl.. I think she is an alien because of that house, the alien like weapon that was just floating there in mid air.. and the symbol it gave off when it exploded...
Now I have to go back and REALLY watch it.. I loved JB in it.. he plays his part well...
Then this Off the Menu.. what the heck are they going to do.. Liz and Max are talking, Tess isn't "pregnant" Alex ISN'T dead yet.. WOW.. this is going to be weird.. UNLESS... they have Maria at the desk again and take us back in time.. You know that might be a better way of doing it... Like giving clips of Baby its you.. then saying something like.. But let me fill you in on something that I forgot to tell you.. Something like that wouldn't be bad...
I WANT LIZ TO USE HER POWERS... I wish it was her who made that bomb thing go out the window.. Like a reflex.. Or like when Michael grabbed her arm... she got some flashes.. Oh heck when Max did that. that she got some flashes...(what is this with these men grabbing Liz's arm) JUST SOMETHING...
Ok.. done and I am going to go rewatch this show.. and pick it apart.. who says what.. and the sounds used.. but I still think that it was the mind warp noise when Max touched Tess's belly...

Speaking of mind-warp music, did you find the music a little creepy when Max found the heart drawn on the newspaper? Was it supposed to be because he found that freaky, or because of Tess's impending fall in the kitchen? When I saw the heart, I started thinking about Fatal Attraction...and Tess's hair was a tad Glenn Close-ish in this ep.
Speaking of powers, I am so glad the spoilers were wrong about Isabel teaching Kyle to use his powers. I don't want Kyle to have powers, and I certainly don't want him to experiment with them before Liz does. Why was that story line dropped? Maybe it will come into play in the finale.
I like your thoughts about Maria doing a chalk-board talk explaining why we are back tracking. That would certainly be less confusing. But I still think it would stall the momentum going from this ep into the next. I still don't understand. That's why I'm a computer nerd (I hear Liz and Maria are collecting them these days ) and not a PTB.
Yeah, I was a little surprised that Michael was trying to strong-arm Liz into going back to Roswell. Do you think it was for her own good, or was he really doing it for Max? I expected her to tell him that he couldn't boss her around like Max. Crap, she's so freaking skinny these days why doesn't one of them just toss her over their shoulder and take her back???
I thought of a co-ink-i-dink. But probably not such a co-ink-i-dink. Here's the theory. We know Tess is all hell-bent on going home since like day one. Somehow she knows that Alex was successful in translating the book ( Neeners - remember my guess about Tess? ), and that she can fake this pregnancy. She never has to worry about any injury to herself or the baby if they don't get home because she already knows how to get home and it's just a matter of either miraculously decoding the book herself or letting Liz find out Alex did it. Either Tess is Leanna, Tess is working with Leanna, or Tess is mindwarping Leanna into doing what she wants. She's just evil, I tell ya.
Yeah, where is Brian? I hope he didn't get lost somewhere along the way...I can't believe he's had 2 eps to really give it to us dreamers and he's all silent on us. I don't trust it.

I thought that heart on the paper was weird.. but then again she is in high school.. she knows her way home is through that rock some how.. The Leanna is not Leanna .. hmmm then ALEX WHO IS SHE??? Liz will come a running... and save everyone.. she always does.. Hmmm didn't they give these aliens brains? or did they make Liz the brains of the bunch... Geez... Well I must run to the store... WOOO HOOO...
Oh yes... another hot day here today... but well with the humidity level.. its like in the high 80's for those of you used to humidity!!!! I like the saying.. but its a dry heat!!!

Ok, I'm here! Sorry to have left you talking amongst yourselves, Lisa & Karen! As Karen knows, been extremely busy with finals for this quarter and doing a lot of traveling for work and stuff. But enough of excuses, let's talk!
*Kyle peeking from under blanket & Sheriff w/ Tess and Max Too funny!
*Loved how Isabel blew off Max and his feelings since he didn't give a damn about hers earlier...like Karen said--YOU GO, GIRL!
*Isabel and Kyle made me laugh...the whole dream thing was funny/disgusting! And loved that Isabel finally told Kyle to stop quoting Buddha! LMAO
*Alien heads for Max/Michael...LOVED IT!
*Emilie did a pretty good job (better than other eps where she didn't do too well) w/ this episode. But I agree w/ Karen, there's something fishy going on here and I think somehow she's behind it all.
*Little hand was kinda cheesy, but kinda neat/cute at the same time.
*Max/Iz make-up at the end did seemed rushed...too fast with all that's been said/done between them.
*LOVED Michael...never thought I'd say that, but I'm loving him more and more...such a sweetheart. Loved what he said to Max on the bridge at the end--that it was worth it.
*Yes, I'm w/ MM, bummer there will now be this weird break in the flow of things w/ OFF THE MENU next week...hope it flows ok.
*Oh, yes, and how could I forget the whole "alien-this and alien-that" conversation btwn Max/Michael on the basketball court...too funny! "Alien Herpies?"--
*This Leanna (sp?) thing is weird...and I, too, wonder if we'll ever get any answers on that one. Knowing our luck, probably not. She's in on something with that whole alien device/bomb thing and the crystal. Hmmm......

OK Guys! I am positive that in the scene when Liz is asking Tess about "Her Powers", Tess is mindwarping Liz. Here is a visual aide to back up my theory:
Here we have the infamous "Max I'm pregnant" scene. Note Max's hair.
Now in the next scene we see Tess has the same clothes on and Max's hair is different.
Also note how Max seemed to be a zombie in that scene. MAJOR tip off!
Another clue is: Kyle CLAIMS he was watching Gladiator with Tess the night Alex was killed. DUH! Tess! HELLO! You and Kyle were at the Crashdown looking at prom pictures with everyone else that night!
So my theory is that Tess was demostrating a mindwarp on Liz.

Hey guys! Karen, I'm liking your theory that Tess is faking this whole pregnancy/sex thing---she's mindwarping EVERYONE!!! Ok, well even if she's not doing that, she's definitely involved somehow...and not in a good way.
Hey, remembered something else I wanted to say... In the chalk board scene at the beginning Maria refers to the Royal Four as the "Pod Squad"...which, I'm pretty sure of, they've never been referred to as on the show before--it was something that fans on the internet started calling them! Wonder if that, plus other little hints (Mac & Cheese) was their way of telling us they're out there...reading posts... I thought it was kinda cool...perhaps a little 'hats off 'recognition to the fan base from Jason Katims and others. <3

Neeners! I agree! The only other time they have even come close to saying Pod Squad was in Skin and Bones when Nasedo/Pierce comes into the Crashdown and mumbles something about never finding those "Pod People". So maybe. HMMM!

Gee, IMM, it's crowded in here! Especially since I spent the last episode talking to myself
I have to say I liked Michael better last year. He's too calm, too mellow and too caring. It's like he and Max have switched bodies. I like the brooding, volatile Michael. I have a fear that M&M will become boring without it. Let's just hope we get to find out if they become boring or not!
Kyle has grown on me immensely, though. I just loved his immaturity in this ep. C'mon - he's a goofy teenage boy! He likes to pull pranks, especially on the "sensitive" guys like Max! Not sure how many pranks he'll ever pull on Isabel after her little threat (ZAP!)

How do they plan to through in OTM with Tess all hunkey dory?

Loved the Isabel and Kyle scences! Getting back at Max, that was so cute! And I also like the *freak* storm! I want some M/M arguments, but I love Michael this way too! He needs to be in between, still our loving, insennsitive Michael, but also understanding when the time comes.

Hmmm didn't Nick say.. Ever wonder why your predasesor was killed... HE MADE BAD CHOICES!!! Does it not look like history is repeating itself? Iz turning on Max.. Michael loyal to the very end no matter what.. and hmmm what about this Queen? no one ever said anything about her.. what did she do? I think Ava and Tess were switched... And if and ONLY IF.. Nasado was not such a good guy... but had plans of his own... (one he didn't count on was being killed by CWW) then the other shape shifter... was HAPPY to see Max and Liz together... In Sexual Healing. he smiled when he saw them asleep in eachothers arms.... (back in the good ol' days!)
Well.... thats it for now.. OH WAIT... did anyone notice that Michael said the same thing to Max that Nasado did "I would just be careful not to confuse what you want to be true with what really is true." Michaels was just about the same line! This was in the last eppy before this baby one.. see I can't keep the names right...
