Backup Lights and Radio Don't Work???
I just bought a '68 Road Runner about a month ago and the backup lights and radio don't work. I know that they operate off of the same fuse and I've changed that. Still nothin'. The side marker lights also do not work.

Any ideas how to get these to work?

Thanks!

Re: Backup Lights and Radio Don't Work???
I am no expert on wiring but you just have to track down where you have power and where you don`t.You will need a test light to check both sides of the fuse block to see if you have power to that partcular fuse. Also check for power coming out of the light switch for the parking lights. It is just a matter of tracking down the break and checking grounds. If you don`t have a test light use an old bulb socket with two leads and run a piece of wire from the ground side to solid metal to check grounds.

Thanks, Jeff. I'll give that a shot. Just seems odd that the radio and back up lights are connected.

A multi meter will be of great help. Check bulbs where necessary, might have internal short in bulb, will drive you crazy like the colapsing exhaust pipes some GM cars had. Backup lights are run through the netural safety switch so check that area as well. A factory service manual is invaluable, it is the best money you can spend so get one ASAP, no matter the cost. I got a bunch for free from a local dealer who was about to throw them out!!!!
