Dear Ladies,
How quickly time flies! I couldn't believe it was already the end of the week! We have been so busy, but I still like to share some of the thoughts God gave me for this weeks Bible study reading! John the Baptist was preparing the way for Christ. So too must we, in our daily walk ask God if He can grant us the strength to follow His way so that we can be a witness of His glory to the people we may come in contact with. There is a lot of pain and suffering in the world, and the only way to find healing and rest is through God, and I think that by setting a good example of a christian way of life the people around us too may be encouraged to follw Gods path. Another thought God gave me was that it is so very important for us to learn to be humble. John the Baptist too was humble in that he gave Jesus the honour above himself - verse 27. We can do nothing of our own power. It is a gift of God that He gives us life and breath, and even our very thoughts and doings - Proverbs 20:24 - Mans goings are of the Lord: how can a man then understand his own way? The final thought I like to share is in my mind the most wonderful and precious. It is such a great gift that Christ died for each of us, so that we may be washed clean from our sins before God.Through our acceptance of Christ - Baptism - the penalty for our sins is paid - Colo 1:22 For me, that is such an awesome thought! Our God is so merciful and loving! And yet, had Christ not risen from the dead, we would have been most miserable (1 Cor 15:17), as it is in His rising that we too can live in the great Hope of our own resurection into eternal life (1 Cor 15:20-22)! My mind can really not comprehend the greatness of God, and I pray that we may be worthy of the high calling of God, the first resurection - Phil 2:14 - for which Paul also strove. Although this is a late post, I pray that these thoughts may be a blessing to all to the glory of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Desiring to grow together through His Word, Fanny. |
