Book Character Rules
You are allowed to play as any of Tolkien’s characters (this is not limited to the Lord of the Rings books), or as an original character. Book characters are divided into two categories: major and minor. I have decided to allow people to have up to two major book characters and two minor, any of which can be substituted for an original character. If the board remains small I will of course let people take on more characters.
Please refer to the major and minor book character list when choosing characters from Tolkien’s books. If you have any questions regarding this rule please contact me! Feel free to start off with a single character, and bring in more later, and don't be afraid to use original characters if you really want to let your creativity run wild.
Changing Characters
You are allowed to change characters if you become bored of your old ones, but once a character is introduced into the world of Eldamar then they stay there forever. It goes without saying that frequent changes of character may cause problems, so changes should be kept to a minimum. Keep in mind though that once you release your claim on your characters they are up for grabs by other members of the community and they can write them how they see fit.
Concerning Elves
Elves have the option to bond. Contrary to Tolkein's world, sex does not necessarily mean you are bonded -- that's up to you. One thing to consider is that if you decide to change characters after you have bonded, the bond is automatically broken to allow others to have freedom if they subsequently take the character.
