Re: Brake Fluid?
EBC 307+
Very inexpensive, good dry boil point
As with Twister I use to use AP 600, no extra benefit for my application, and I think changing it on a regular basis is more important than 15 dec C boil point difference

You can't go wrong with Castrol SRF, even though it costs an arm and a leg....

Re: Brake fluid
Its ELF Dot 4 for us, a lot more reasonably priced, so we can afford to bleed the brakes off as often as we need!

Re: brake fluid
The RBF600 Motul is very good. Thats what we use in our car( dirty big fat ass v8 commodore producing 700*c plus brake temps all day). The ELF htx is also very good. Both no were near the price of the Castrol. We use to use the Castrol but if left in the system with out regular use of the car it tends to hydroscop badly and corrode your calipers. Oh buy the Riverwood Motorsport sells both RBF & ELF

I have been using the castrol dot 4, Same reasons as rdmdog, is cheap and easy to get a hold of when you run out at the track. I have never had an issue with fluid.

brake fluid?
thanks again for the reply's
so some are using racing fluid and other are using normal dot4!
how does the pedal feel after a days racing with normal dot 4?
Re: Brake Fluid
I used the standard old Castrol Response Super (silver bottled stuff) which is DOT4 I think. Cost is around the $20 mark.
Never had a problem with it, although admittedly my car was/will be only a mid-fielder.. My original front brake setup of Hilux 4 spot calipers, 200B rotors and Howards Comp 2 pads used to take a total flogging (rotors lasted 2 events max and the surface of them was destroyed by blueing and the material literally being torn away) and my pedal was always solid as a rock......not even a hint of soft pedal. We've since upgraded to a better, more reliable arrangement and the fluid's still proving to be more than up to the job.
Like most people, we also run braided lines and do a full system bleed after each event, which makes a huge difference to reliablity as well.
