Re: Broadband
We have cable broadband at home, but have recently bought a 3G wireless card to be able to keep in touch (work demands!) from on board with a laptop. Saves having to find an Internet cafe at every stop. The card works OK (after a large number of calls to overseas call centres!) but has a tendency to slow down frequently resulting in dialup type speeds. I was assured when we bought it that in non-3G areas it should only drop to 2G, but it does seem to drop often below 0.5G. When it works though it is great - broadband speed from on board.
However, is really nice to be able to do emails (and post to forums) from the chart table. The only problem is that my hand tends to shake when I have to write the cheque each month for the bill!
