I've heard many reasons why the cartoon appearance of some characters differed from their Hasbro counterparts. Whatever reason(s)they might be,it spurred me to ruin my figures by painting them as the cartoon version.
(P.S. since there is so many,I'll do five per post)
1) I'll start with
Flint.
I preferred the cartoon version much more than the action figure.I think it blended in with the 'green' original Joe outfits. My painting of my Flint figure is one that I'm proud of.
2)As for
Lady Jaye ,I don't think there was that great a variance between the two:except the hat.I would lean toward the show for her weapon and backpack, too. Once again I side with Sunbow for 'dropping the hat'.
3)The yellow and blue of
Wild Bill definately was one of the more contrasting of the show.Although I think it was necessary to veer away from the 'green look' and not have every Joe this way, I will side with Hasbro on this one.
4)
Torpedo :What the heck was Sunbow thinking? Albeit, the toy's outfit wasn't 'anything to write home about',at least it had
some color.
5)
Cobra Officers (gloves/no gloves):It's not much,I just didn't understand why troopers wouldn't wear gloves.Maybe it had to do with color contrast:Black gloved hands holding black weapons. Then why did Cobra Commander,The Baroness,Dr.Mindmender,etc. have black gloves?
