[Character's Information]

Name: Zhao Lian (Alias Jenny Elf)
Age: 10 (in 1999, at the time of the series)
Weight: 40 kg
Height: 4’3’’ (128cm)

Nationality: Chinese

Appearance: Fair complexion but darkened by days spent playing in the hot summer sun. Jenny is not into fashion yet and mostly dresses like a tomboy with shorts and trainers. Physically Jenny would be a pretty girl if she paid any attention to her appearance. Pretty in a distinctly childish manner with elf like features Jenny is generally described as very cute. She has blue-black hair like that of her cousin Ren Tao but noticeably less conspicuous, usually tied back in a poor imitation of a pony-tail. (Skin complexion, clothing, hairsrtyle, eye colour and facial features)

Medium(s): The jian (a thin long but flexible Chinese sword) (The object used, mainly weapons or blunt objects. Optional)

Personality: Jenny Elf is her nickname and a very apt one too. She is clever and agile when she’s thinking clearly. However she has a hot temper and is a bit of a loudmouth. Jenny is definitely a leader, but admitted not a very good one. She can’t resist showing off anything new and secrets are a foreign concept to her. Ultimately she is a kind and good-natured child but not without her shortfalls.

History: The Zhao clan have practised their own branch of martial arts since the twelfth century. The martial art was taught to sons and daughters. Mainly residing in southeast China, the clan have great political influence in their resident provinces. The Zhao clan unlike the Taos have remained active in their community. While the Zhao clan are not renowned for their shamans, there have been several great shamans in Jenny Elf’s linage. Zhao Kun Dao was a shaman king. However the history of shamans has been kept secret over the past five hundred years for fear of persecution. Jenny Elf is the first shaman in her family for over three generations and so she was bought up differently to that of her girl cousins. Instead of learning to draw, sew and recite poetry, Jenny learned military tactics, composed essays on political issues (which she was abysmal at) and trained with her spirit Shi Ming.

The Zhao clan became closely related to the Tao family after the marriage of their daughter Zhao Ran who became the mother of Ren Tao. Zhao Ran is Jenny’s paternal aunt. Although the Zhao clan were not thrilled with the marriage they never the less allowed it due to Jenny’s father. The Tao were keen to forge and alliance with an influential family mainly due to the influence of Ching Tao. Ran Tao remained in close contact with her brother and her sister in law for the rest of their lives. However after her parent’s death when Jenny was seven, the Zhao clan cut ties with the Taos and Jenny has not heard from her aunt since then. Her cousins became taboo subject in the household but Jenny remembers her cousins Jun and Ren.

Before her parent’s death Ran Tao used to be invited to the annual revival feast in the mountains of Hou Nang. Ren and Jun attended every time before Jenny’s eighth birthday with special permissions from their father. Ren being a boy and three years her senior was at first cold and aloft but a sort of mutual respect was established after her learnt Jenny was also a shaman. However being rather aggressive Ren saw a great opportunity to use Jenny for target practise. However these never amounted to anything more than flying dumplings and fruit pieces. Despite his behaviour Jenny admired Ren for she felt he was both bigger and smarter than she was.

However after her parent’s death the Zhao Family broke severed their ties with the Taos. Her father had been influential in keeping the alliance but the rest of the Zhao Clan despised the now leader of the Taos, En. Jenny has not seen or heard from her aunt or cousins since. En Tao felt betrayed and cut off all communications with the Zhao clan.

Currently Jenny Elf lives with her grandmother in a very modest estate in the foothills of the Hou Nang mountains. Her village is very scenic and attracts large numbers of tourists very year. However life is fairly primitive without most of the technological advancements that most people take for granted. Jenny does have a computer or playstation but her life is filled with more healthy activities.

She attends the local village school in the morning but is educated by a private tutor in the afternoons, provided by her uncle Zhao Ling, the head of the clan. He pays regular visits to his mother and often brings Jenny new clothes and toys.

[Spirit's Information]

Name: Shi Ming
Type: Human, ancient Chinese military tactician

Appearance: Dark hair and eyes with a long goatee and thin face. Although he does not look like a body builder he has an unmatched intelligence. He wears traditional Chinese armour and long under tunic.

History: Shi Ming was a general in the imperial army. His family had humble origins and came from the northern boarders of China. Shi Ming became a general fighting to defend China from invading Mongols in the north. He was posted for most of his life on the Great Wall near the capital city of Beijing. Military tacticians in China did not fight but planned out the battle. Shi Ming was one such person in his later life after suffering a crippling injury in battle. He died at the age of 42 from pneumonia.

Shi Ming was called upon by Jenny’s father after he found out that she could see spirits and control them. He has pledged to serve Jenny ever since. Jenny Elf sees Shi Ming as a great friend and often asks for his advise in things. (Brief description about the life of the spirit before it's death and how it has managed to meet with your character after that)

Techniques: Main technique is dispersion where the shaman can become virtually non-existent if attacked. However this technique drains the energies because the ghost has to pull himself together (literally) afterwards.

Attacks include the tong a penetrating stab that when practised to the full can destroy the ghost and the shaman together, but of course Jenny cannot do this yet. The technique can be used against shields or swipes like the one that Yoh is so fond of.

The slicing motion is used to target a weak point in the shaman usually the neck. Practised to the full it can temporarily severe the connection between the shaman and his ghost leaving both vunerable.

The shua is a rapid wave motion with the jian that is designed to slice the ghost into small pieces so it cannot regenerate.

Teleportation is a strange technique that enables both the shaman and the ghost to disappear and reappear in a different place. It seems fairly spontaneous and is triggered by extreme fear. However no shamans have been able to fully control this ability. Teleportation could let the shaman move a few inches to avoid an attack or take them several miles away.

Good to see that you have an organized techs. But i need you to add another one thing on each techniques that you have stated- the damage dealt. Basically, the damage level of an amateur is quite low. Unless on certain accepted reasons, the damages of an amateur shaman may not exceed 30.

And sorry for the very late reply. My net line was down for quite sometime i didn't even have the time to fix it.
