Emilee Elizabeth:: Sounds nice! We've got an inch or so of snow and it's in the 20s Brr!! sis2 12:: My sister says it 42 deg. here. Emilee Elizabeth:: You all have a heat wave! Emilee Elizabeth:: How have you been? sis2 12:: Right now we are pretty busy. My mom just left today. sis2 12:: She went to OR to see my sister who is at a collage there. Emilee Elizabeth:: Oh! How nice! I hope they have a really nice visit! Did you have a sister who went to Colorado too? sis2 12:: Yah. That's the same one Emilee Elizabeth:: I completely understand about being busy! It's been the same around here mostly all ood things though! Emilee Elizabeth:: What did she go to study? Is she enjoying it? Emilee Elizabeth:: *good (I meant to say... sorry about that!) sis2 12:: When she was in Colorado she was doing wilderness survivel and resque. sp? Emilee Elizabeth:: That's really interesting!! His Handmaid:: How are you two today? Emilee Elizabeth:: How neat!!! sis2 12:: Busy, but fine! Emilee Elizabeth:: I'm doing just fine here! Enjoying being inside... it's a little too cold outside!  Did you all get any snow?Emilee Elizabeth:: How are you doing, Hannah? BreeznSummerIsle joined His Handmaid:: Actually we haven't had hardly any snow yet...hopefully we'll get a load for Christmas. His Handmaid:: And I'm doing great, as well ! BreeznSummerIsle:: Hello Girls! His Handmaid:: Hi Lindsey! Emilee Elizabeth:: Hi Lindsey! sis2 12:: Who! Snow for Christmas! We only dream of that! Emilee Elizabeth:: We had quite a lot of snow on Christmas Eve last year!! It was beautiful! His Handmaid:: Where are you Shannon? I can't remember. Emilee Elizabeth:: How are you doing Lindsey? His Handmaid:: sis2 12:: Georgia. His Handmaid:: oh, ok. LOL I guess you do only dream about it then! BreeznSummerIsle:: Good Emily. Staying busy as usual.  Yourself?sis2 12:: When I grow up I am moving North!!! I like snow! BreeznSummerIsle:: Did you get snow from that last storm Emily? Emilee Elizabeth:: Same here! We've been busy working on Titus 2 a lot behind the scenes. And getting ready for some family get-togethers Emilee Elizabeth:: Yes! We got about an inch or so... it snowed all day yesterday. Emilee Elizabeth:: Did you get any snow, Lindsey? BreeznSummerIsle:: No. Emilee Elizabeth:: Where up North would you like to move, Shannon? His Handmaid:: Really Shannon - my dad would be happy to trade places with you! He keeps wanting to move somewhere WARMER! Emilee Elizabeth:: LOL Hannah BreeznSummerIsle:: My relatives in Nova Scotia are sure getting it though. sis2 12:: Vermont, of New Hampshire probably. His Handmaid:: I don't like the cold too much, but I do enjoy all the pretty snow! BreeznSummerIsle:: I enjoy the snow too but we usually don't get much. Emilee Elizabeth:: We've always wanted to go to Vermont... maybe someday! It looks beautiful up there! If I moved any where... I'd like to be near some mountains... or atleast a few tall hills. lol His Handmaid:: I was thinking maybe a foot for Christmas would be nice, but strangly, the rest of the family dislikes the idea! Emilee Elizabeth:: I love snow, just as long as everyone is home safe and sound and not stranded somewhere! His Handmaid:: Well, I think Vermont can get pretty cold in the winter, too sis2 12:: The most snow we have ever gotten here was 3 ft.and that was in a blizzard that comes only every 100 years!! Emilee Elizabeth:: We had about 8" last year for Christmas! It was so pretty! Emilee Elizabeth:: That's a long time to wait, Shannon. lol! His Handmaid:: Right, lol BreeznSummerIsle:: I've seen some pictures of Vermont during the fall and winter in the Country magazine and it looked absolutely beautiful. sis2 12:: The 3 ft. that we got was in March too. Emilee Elizabeth:: Doesn't it though! Vermont looks to be such a pretty state! sis2 12:: Ok. Vermont it is. Anyone want to help me move? lol! His Handmaid:: I can say that Vermont is beautiful in the fall...although we weren't there at the hight of the season Emilee Elizabeth:: Sure!! Emilee Elizabeth:: So what have you ladies been up to lately? BreeznSummerIsle:: We drove through some of the New England States several years back during fall and it was so pretty with all the colors. Here pretty much all you see is yellow. BreeznSummerIsle:: Sewing and music! Emilee Elizabeth:: We had a beautiful fall this year! Some years can be rather boring... but this year the leaves were vibrant for MO His Handmaid:: Well, I just finished my 12 fleece scarves this morning and am about ready to mail them out!! sis2 12:: I have been trying to find Christmas presents. BreeznSummerIsle:: Hannah, do you have a home business making them? Emilee Elizabeth:: Wow! Hannah you've been busy! Emilee Elizabeth:: That's wonderful! Emilee Elizabeth:: We applaud you! (Mom and I literally did! LOL!) His Handmaid:: No, LOL.. There for a family we know that has 11 children, and one just got married, so her hubby got one, too. They were are really super easy though! His Handmaid:: *they're BreeznSummerIsle:: We were also helping my aunt getting ready to move back east so that used up most of the week. They had to travel through the snow storm though so it may take them longer to arrive back then planned. Emilee Elizabeth:: We've done most all of our Christmas shopping online this year, and now we're just waiting for the packages to arrive. Emilee Elizabeth:: How nice Hannah! I'm sure they'll love them! Did you make them in all different colors? His Handmaid:: That's a nice and simple way to do it, Emilee...no fight the crowds! BreeznSummerIsle:: Did you knit or crochet them? His Handmaid:: *fighting Emilee Elizabeth:: I'm sure she really appreciated the help! It's too bad they had to drive through the snow storm though! Emilee Elizabeth:: I enjoy getting out and shopping...but this time of year can be kind of push and shove out there! His Handmaid:: Yes, I tried to make them in everyone's favorite colors..the girls got prints and the boys got solids. BreeznSummerIsle:: My aunt has been making scarves with I think it was called 'funny' yarn or something like that. It soft, fuzzy and kind of reminds you of almost a fur look. Emilee Elizabeth:: Sounds like fun!! Emilee Elizabeth:: How's your shopping going Shannon? His Handmaid:: And they're fleece fabric, Lindsey BreeznSummerIsle:: Oh, okay. Emilee Elizabeth:: That yarn is so cute and really soft! His Handmaid:: I do happen to be knitting a hat for my brother though. sis2 12:: Well, we haven't gotten a lot done yet. Emilee Elizabeth:: Great idea!! How's it going Hannah? Emilee Elizabeth:: That's okay, Shannon! You still have plenty of time! BreeznSummerIsle:: I started knitting a scarf about 8 years ago and I still haven't finished it. Crochet is definately higher on the list for me. Emilee Elizabeth:: Sometimes it's so hard to try to figure out what to give! sis2 12:: We just drew names last night. His Handmaid:: well, pretty good, since I don't knit alot, and this is on curcular needles,too, which is a new one for me. I am having fun with it! Emilee Elizabeth:: Well, Lindsey... I tried knitting a washcloth a couple years ago and alas... I haven't even finished it! LOL! BreeznSummerIsle:: Oh, good, I don't feel so alone now. His Handmaid:: LOL.. I understand Lindsey, sometimes knitting just seems to go so slow! Emilee Elizabeth:: How do you like it Hannah? I just told mom about your circular needles. She wants to knit on circular needles!! What kind are you using? (Your needles) BreeznSummerIsle:: I am totally lost when I make a mistake. His Handmaid:: You mean the brand? Emilee Elizabeth:: I hope you find lots of good buys, Shannon and have fun shopping!! Are you working on any craft projects? Emilee Elizabeth:: Yes, the brand. Emilee Elizabeth:: Oh! I know how that goes Lindsey! I'm like that with cross-stitch so sometimes.. I improvise. O:-) sis2 12:: Actually, right now I am working on scarves for 3 wisemen. Emilee Elizabeth:: Is that for a living nativity, Shannon? How neat! BreeznSummerIsle:: LOL! Emilee. Sounds like me. His Handmaid:: They are Susan Bates, but I just go the cheepest brand! I couldn't find 16 in. at any big stores near us, but finally found these at a little yarn shop a ways away. And they even had four different brands to choose from in the size I needed! LOL sis2 12:: lol! it's for my little brother, and sisters. His Handmaid:: oh, cute Shannon! Emilee Elizabeth:: Mom asks what size needle you're using? His Handmaid:: size 7 Emilee Elizabeth:: Oh that's cute, Shannon! Is it knit, crochet, or sewn? His Handmaid:: the first round is the hardest, but after that it's pretty easy Emilee Elizabeth:: That's a nice gauge, Mom says! (She's typing an article on the other computer) sis2 12:: They are sewn. Gold, purpel, and silver, (i think). Emilee Elizabeth:: Sounds really, really neat, Shannon! Emilee Elizabeth:: Mom's getting ready to knit a pair of socks on two circular needles. Emilee Elizabeth:: Once she gets it down she's going to teach me. His Handmaid:: Yes, it is turning out to be "fine" and smooth looking, especially since it's the stockenet stitch Emilee Elizabeth:: Maybe I'll get a little further than one sock and finish the next one 10 years later! LOL His Handmaid:: Oh, socks - that should be fun! sis2 12:: I always wondered how you would knit socks. Emilee Elizabeth:: I'm wearing a sweater made from a stockenet stitch... it's isn't homemade...but the stitch is so nice! BreeznSummerIsle:: Has your Mom made socks before or is she just learning? Emilee Elizabeth:: Mom loves to knit socks!! Emilee Elizabeth:: She hasn't made that many, but really enjoyed making them! His Handmaid:: It's especially nice on the curcular needles, since you never have to turn and purl! sis2 12:: How long does it take her? BreeznSummerIsle:: That's neat! BreeznSummerIsle:: Does she use a pattern? Emilee Elizabeth:: Well... she just does a little bit at a time. If you could really sit down and knit it'd probably take about 3 days for an easy pattern. sis2 12:: Wow! Emilee Elizabeth:: Yes, the first one she did was really simple, but they turned out so nice! Handmade looking socks have really become popular again... her pattern is like the bulky kind you see in stores. sis2 12:: I guess you really appricate those socks! Emilee Elizabeth:: Yes! They are so nice to wear in my boots, when I go do chores outside in the snow and cold weather. His Handmaid:: BreeznSummerIsle:: Handmade things are so nice. His Handmaid:: nothing like homemade! sis2 12:: I agree! Emilee Elizabeth:: That's right! They are really special. We've got a lot of laughs out of them too... sis2 12:: ??? His Handmaid:: really? Emilee Elizabeth:: One pair turned out looking a tad like bowling pins... and they'd actually stand up on their own! LOL! BreeznSummerIsle:: How? His Handmaid:: LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His Handmaid:: That is hilarious! BreeznSummerIsle:: That is too funny! sis2 12:: Oh my! Emilee Elizabeth:: They are warm and fit really nice! But it was the talk of the family... "Have you seen Lyn's socks? You've GOT to ask her to show them to you when you go visit!!!" His Handmaid:: sis2 12:: Oh no! lol Emilee Elizabeth:: So, they've been fun in more than one way! BreeznSummerIsle:: HaHa! Emilee Elizabeth:: Mom has a good sense of humor. We find something funny about most of our craft projects... sometimes we're a bit too creative... like bowling pin socks. BreeznSummerIsle:: What next??? LOL! Emilee Elizabeth:: LOL! sis2 12:: How about a black stripe around the ankle? lo!l Emilee Elizabeth:: Yes! That'd be more authentic!! They are white...so that's all they are lacking! Emilee Elizabeth:: Anyone started baking cookies yet? Emilee Elizabeth:: We haven't started baking yet... But I want to make some for Dad. His Handmaid:: No, I might make some later one next week! Thanks for the reminder. sis2 12:: We are going to do pumpkin bread this year. It's easier to give to lot's of people. His Handmaid:: *on His Handmaid:: Yum! That sounds delicious Shannon! Emilee Elizabeth:: Mmmm the pumpkin bread sounds good!! His Handmaid:: I LOVE those kinds of breads...pumpkin, zuceny (sp -lol) and banana! Emilee Elizabeth:: Have you all seen snowflake cookie cutters! I think they turn out so pretty after being iced! His Handmaid:: No, haven't seen any of those! Emilee Elizabeth:: Mmmm! Me too! I like it with a nice cup of tea! His Handmaid:: or hot chocolate, Emilee! Emilee Elizabeth:: Are you all tea fans? Emilee Elizabeth:: Yes! That sounds good!! sis2 12:: Oh, I like apple cider! BreeznSummerIsle:: I don't mind tea but I would most times prefer coffee. Nothing beats hot chocolate in the winter time though. Emilee Elizabeth:: I like that too Shannon! sis2 12:: Hot! apple cider. His Handmaid:: Oh, yes, I like tea alot during the winter...although I often don't take the time to make it. And I do agree about hot chocolate in the winter, Shannon! Emilee Elizabeth:: I like coffee but we have it very rarely. His Handmaid:: It's so good to drink by the fire, with popcorn, and music in the background....lol now I'm getting dreamy! BreeznSummerIsle:: It's a staple here. Emilee Elizabeth:: Mmmhmmm that sounds nice!! His Handmaid:: as the snow piles in drifts outside...LOL Emilee Elizabeth:: Hannah you've got a good story line going there!! sis2 12:: Snow? some how I can't picture that here. BreeznSummerIsle:: You need to go north Shannon. Emilee Elizabeth:: We used to be coffee drinkers... but then we switched to tea. We have a hole cabinet full to the brim with various kinds of tea. So, we're stocked for that snow storm you're predicting, Hannah! His Handmaid:: hahaha..yes...little susie sat by the blazing fire, watching the crystal flakes float past the frosty window panes... sis2 12:: Ever thought of being a writer? Emilee Elizabeth:: Excellent!! I can just picture her! His Handmaid:: LOL...I actually doubt that we'll get that much! sis2 12:: Pleeeeease send some to me!?! His Handmaid:: Ever thought of it?? My dear, that's what I am! LOL Emilee Elizabeth:: LOL! Hannah! sis2 12:: Oh! That's great! Emilee Elizabeth:: I can try to send some your way, Shannon...but it might melt before it gets there. His Handmaid:: Yeah, I stuff you a boxfull and mail it overnight shipping! BreeznSummerIsle:: Fed Ex would be quickest. Emilee Elizabeth:: That's true!! You could put it on dry ice sis2 12:: Hmmmm... His Handmaid:: I actually do love to write, but I just have WAY too many ideas to write them all down...and I always start a new story before the last one is done! BreeznSummerIsle:: Do you write poety at all? Emilee Elizabeth:: Then that means you're a good writer Hannah! Your stories testify to that! His Handmaid:: Well, Shannon, just sit on your porch and eat a popsicle, that should make you feel cold! ( I know, it's not the same with no snow!) Emilee Elizabeth:: Do you write Lindsey and Shannon? sis2 12:: Only letters. His Handmaid:: Well, thank you Emilee, but sometimes I drive myself crazy! I can't barely watch a movie anymore for fear of getting another idea Emilee Elizabeth:: LOL! You need to get a recipe box and then write your ideas down on index cards and keep them filed away. Then when and if you ever have writer's block you can pull out an idea from your file! BreeznSummerIsle:: No, I haven't blessed with a writing ability in that sence. I stick to snail mail and e-mail. My mom is definately good at writing and poetry but it didn't get passed down to me. sis2 12:: I just don't have the gift of putting my thoughts into words. His Handmaid:: And no, Lindsey, I haven't really written any poetry...it just is quit my knack to try to come up with lines that rhyme. BreeznSummerIsle:: Me either, Shannon. His Handmaid:: Good idea, Emilee, I've started trying to write things down like that. sis2 12:: I can come up with such wonderful stories in my head tho! Emilee Elizabeth:: I enjoy writing, but I'm kind of like Hannah! I need to stick to my recipe box more faithfully! Emilee Elizabeth:: Maybe you'd enjoy telling stories, instead of writing them! His Handmaid:: hahahaha! sis2 12:: I do that all of the time! sis2 12:: With 6 younger siblings... Emilee Elizabeth:: There you go! You're a story teller! That's a great ministry to children!! His Handmaid:: "Storie Recipes" I can just see it... Emilee Elizabeth:: An author told me about that... It really did work for her even though it seems almost too simplistic! sis2 12:: You could sell that! "A Box Full of Ideas!" Emilee Elizabeth:: There you go! His Handmaid:: It is a good idea...I do it a little differently with a worksheet that I made, but it works about the same way. Emilee Elizabeth:: I thought Mrs. Rue had a pretty good idea! Emilee Elizabeth:: I love to write letters but it seems like I always tend to wait until I can write a long letter and the letter then doesn't get written!  So, I think I need to shorten things a tad and actually send a few letters! His Handmaid:: and one e-pal,too. Emilee Elizabeth:: How nice!! His Handmaid:: And one of my penpals is in Ukraine, so we actually don't write that often. sis2 12:: Wow! sis2 12:: I have one in Alaska. His Handmaid:: LOL Emilee, I'm good about procrastinating, too! Emilee Elizabeth:: How neat! I'm sure her letters are really interesting! His Handmaid:: Neat Shannon, that's fun isn't it? I used to write to a girl there once. Emilee Elizabeth:: It's always a ray of sunshine to get a letter in the mailbox! His Handmaid:: Oh, it is! sis2 12:: It's neat how God can send you something you really need to hear in a letter from a friend! His Handmaid:: Yes, Emilee, her letters are interesting...I don't think I told you the most recent news? Well, she had a baby this July and sent me a picture a couple weeks ago! So cute! Emilee Elizabeth:: Isn't it though!! It's such a blessing! Emilee Elizabeth:: Oh how neat!!! What a blessing! His Handmaid:: Now I'm REALLY sad that we don't live closer. LOL Emilee Elizabeth:: Was it a little girl or boy? Emilee Elizabeth:: Is it? (I should say )His Handmaid:: little girl...Angelina. Emilee Elizabeth:: Pretty name!! His Handmaid:: I am dying to send her something (for the baby), but who knows if it will get there! Emilee Elizabeth:: I have a friend in Australia and she sent me some honey from their honey farm and it arrived safe and sound. Emilee Elizabeth:: But it took almost a month to get here sis2 12:: It should. My brothers send stuff to Russia quite often. His Handmaid:: Wow, but what a treat! sis2 12:: Yah. It does take a month. Emilee Elizabeth:: It's sooo neat!!! She's posted on the message board; her name is Fanny. Emilee Elizabeth:: It's so neat to have overseas pen-pals! She sends pictures of their home and the landscape! Oh it's so pretty! I'd love to visit someday. She actually lives in Tasmania His Handmaid:: Well, we once sent a package of nice things to Kenya, around Christmas, and it never got there. So far only one of my letters to Ukaine didn't make it, so that's good! Emilee Elizabeth:: So, I'd think your friend would get the package, Hannah. The worst part is shipping costs! Some countries are more reasonable than others to send things too though. Emilee Elizabeth:: Oh how disappointing that it didn't arrive!! Emilee Elizabeth:: I can understand why you'd be a little worried about it His Handmaid:: Well, I think I'll try anyway...I hadn His Handmaid:: even sent anything for their Wedding since I was worried about it. Emilee Elizabeth:: It might be worth a try to send something! His Handmaid:: Well, it can be expensive, I'm sure - it costs me about 80 cents for a letter, and it gets there in about a week. His Handmaid:: I plan just to make something simple, so it won't be a big deal if it doesn't get there! Emilee Elizabeth:: Oh wow! I've received a couple letters from Africa and they've taken about a month to get here, same with the letters from Tasmania. Emilee Elizabeth:: So that's quick!! His Handmaid:: So have you two been brushing up on your Christmas music? Emilee Elizabeth:: Playing the music, or listening? lol His Handmaid:: LOL Playing - I know You've been listening for awhile already! Emilee Elizabeth:: O:-) sis2 12:: Yes! I am singing, and playing for church this week. Emilee Elizabeth:: Well, I have a few songs down on the zither! I have to have my music handy though. Emilee Elizabeth:: That's great Shannon! What are your selections? His Handmaid:: Wonderful, Shannon! Emilee Elizabeth:: How are you doing with your music, Hannah? His Handmaid:: And good for you, too, Emilee! His Handmaid:: I've just been sticking to the piano. Emilee Elizabeth:: How's that going? Emilee Elizabeth:: You play the piano right, Shannon? sis2 12:: Yes. but I am playing the harp for church. His Handmaid:: Oh, fine...I am enjoying playing Christmas music! His Handmaid:: Oh, how nice Shannon/ Emilee Elizabeth:: Have either of you ever played Carol of the Bells? It's one of my all time favorites! Emilee Elizabeth:: Oh beautiful, Shannon! We were just listening to some harp Christmas music! His Handmaid:: what's the first line? sis2 12:: Oh! I have sung that with some friends! I love that song! His Handmaid:: I think I may have played it. Emilee Elizabeth:: My Mom has played it on the flute before! Emilee Elizabeth:: I've been searching for the music to play it on the zither. I haven't found it yet. I think I'll have to get violin music for it. Emilee Elizabeth:: What are your favorite Christmas songs? His Handmaid:: Oh, nevermind, I guess I haven't played that one before! His Handmaid:: It is pretty though! Emilee Elizabeth:: I think it'd be fun to play! His Handmaid:: I like "God Rest Yea Merry Gentleman" and hummmm....that's hard to say, maybe "What Child is This". I really enjoy all of them! Emilee Elizabeth:: My favorite is Carol of the Bells, and I really like the First Noel... basically all the really classic Christmas songs sis2 12:: Have you ever heard of "Rose of Bethlehem"? His Handmaid:: I also like "Deck the halls" lol, but it's fun to sing Emilee Elizabeth:: I don't be love so... although the name seems to be familiar. Emilee Elizabeth:: That's a classic, Hannah! Emilee Elizabeth:: I enjoy it too. sis2 12:: I also like "O come, O Come Emmanuel". Emilee Elizabeth:: Is the Rose of Bethlehem an old song, or a newer one? sis2 12:: Newer.
