Emilee Elizabeth:: Hi Hannah!
His Handmaid:: Hi Emilee!
His Handmaid:: I hope you weren't waiting long!
Emilee Elizabeth:: How are you this fine afternoon?
Emilee Elizabeth:: Oh no...I just came in
His Handmaid:: I'm doing wonderful thanks...and it is a lovely day!
His Handmaid:: How are you?
His Handmaid::
Emilee Elizabeth:: It is pretty here too! It looks life fall is on its way! Our pumpkins are bright orange! :)
Emilee Elizabeth:: I'm doing just fine thanks! I've been busy working on my College English.
His Handmaid:: Oh! Sounds so pretty!
His Handmaid:: Hummmm....having fun with that?
Emilee Elizabeth:: ...and helping Mom can raspberry tomato jam! We've never tried that before...so it's an experiment.
Emilee Elizabeth:: Oh, it's okay... I look forward to having it done... I won't have to do any more english for my degree after this. Hooray!
His Handmaid:: That sounds interesting. Never heard of that kind of jam!
His Handmaid:: I'm sure you are ready to have that over with
His Handmaid:: (the English)
Emilee Elizabeth:: We hadn't either. We just found the recipe online. It tasted good...considering it was warm. So we'll see.
Emilee Elizabeth:: Is your garden still producing?
His Handmaid:: I think we may have a few peppers and tomatoes - but it's pretty much over with.
His Handmaid:: By the way- I think we fixed the wedding pictures - so you can see them now I hope!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Did you have any sweet red peppers in your garden this year?
Emilee Elizabeth:: Oh!! I'll run over there and take a look!
His Handmaid:: No, we have green, orange, and sweet banana peppers.
Emilee Elizabeth:: thank you!
His Handmaid:: Can you see them?
Emilee Elizabeth:: We've had to pick our peppers green... because once they started to turn red they wanted to rot! My Grandma had the same problem. They're still good. We've dehydrated a few.
Emilee Elizabeth:: I can see the pictures!!! :) Thanks for posting them!!!
His Handmaid:: Yes...sometimes that seems to happen to ours, because we like to wait until they're red to pick them.
His Handmaid:: Oh, good!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Oh those pictures are really good!!
Emilee Elizabeth:: And... the dresses are so pretty as well as the flowers!
His Handmaid:: Yes, yes, they were :) Even better in real life!
Emilee Elizabeth:: You're not wearing glasses! Do you have contacts now?
Emilee Elizabeth:: Phoebe is cute!
His Handmaid:: Yep, sure do...although in that picture with Rebecca I have a new pair of glasses on - my vision isn't quite as good with the contacts, and I wanted to see VERY cleary that day!
His Handmaid::
His Handmaid:: *clearly LOL
Emilee Elizabeth:: Your new glasses are really nice! They look a little like my Mom's! :)
His Handmaid:: Why thank you...I guess your mom and I have similar tastes
Emilee Elizabeth:: I used to wear glasses, but the Dr. said my eyes improved so I no longer have to wear them... if in the future I need to go back to them I think I'd want contacts too
Emilee Elizabeth:: You all must have!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Mom got her new ones in the Spring and I went with her to help shop for them. Wow! They really have some strange styles out there!
His Handmaid:: We finally finished watching all 6 or 7 hours of the wedding video!
Emilee Elizabeth:: That's quite a collection! I know it'll be something you all will enjoy for years to come! It's so nice to have those memories preserved on tape!
His Handmaid:: LOL- I know there are some very strange pairs!
His Handmaid:: (and I just saw your note about wedding sampler -I'm fixing it now!)
Emilee Elizabeth:: So, are you all sending copies of the tapes back to the bride and groom?
Emilee Elizabeth:: Oh, that's no problem! I do look forward to seeing it too!
His Handmaid:: Fixed now, I think! Christopher is going to make a one hour edited version with music and all the works, but he will also rough edit the whole 6 hours and send it to them, as there's alot I'm sure they'd like to see!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Oh, that'll be so nice!! Sounds very professional!
His Handmaid:: LOL - some things I'm sure they had no idea were going on - like a couple of the groomsmen wrestling on the floor.
Emilee Elizabeth:: LOL!! What a moment to capture!
His Handmaid:: Oh yes, Emilee, my brother is really good at this video - he hopes to eventually do video for his own business.
Emilee Elizabeth:: I forgot to ask where the couple went on their honeymoon!
Emilee Elizabeth:: That's great!!
His Handmaid:: Eureka Springs, Arkansas - but the first night they went the house.
His Handmaid:: *to the
Emilee Elizabeth:: How nice! I've been there before. It's so pretty. We hope to go to Eureka Springs in October!
His Handmaid:: Oh how nice! I've never been there
Emilee Elizabeth:: I'm sure they had a really nice time!
His Handmaid:: I imagine they did.
Emilee Elizabeth:: It's a very quaint town and we really enjoy seeing the victorian buildings.
His Handmaid:: Sounds pretty...Andrew has good taste I guess.
Emilee Elizabeth:: Yes! He does!
His Handmaid::
Emilee Elizabeth:: Have you made any homemade bread lately??
His Handmaid:: Um, um, no, um, um, I really should though
Emilee Elizabeth:: lol! I know the feeling! :)
Emilee Elizabeth:: The sampler turned out so pretty! Bravo!
His Handmaid:: Thanks - I was happy with it as well.
Emilee Elizabeth:: Do you like using the linen over the reg. aida?
His Handmaid:: Life's been pretty busy - Mommy and Daddy celebrated their 25th anniversary on Tuesday, so I was busy finishing up their scrapbook!
Emilee Elizabeth:: I most certainly understand about being busy! Congratulations to your parents! What a wonderful blessing from the Lord!
His Handmaid:: Well, I do like the look of the linen better, but it's more work for counting and such, because you have to count little threads instead of squares!
Emilee Elizabeth:: How did you design scrapbook? Sounds really neat!
His Handmaid:: It is such a blessing! And they are such an example
Emilee Elizabeth:: Yes, I like the linen look too.. I've not tried it yet. Maybe someday!
His Handmaid:: I got a regular size scrapbook and the first page was a wedding picture, and then after that I had a page with a picture from each anniversary.
His Handmaid:: At the back I had a few letters from family and friends whom I asked to write something.
Emilee Elizabeth:: That is a wonderful example! My Dad and Mom will be celebrating their 25th Anniversary this coming April!
His Handmaid:: *pages, I meant to say.
His Handmaid:: That's really wonderful, Emilee!
Emilee Elizabeth:: I just told Mom about your parents anniversary... and she said "Ahh... Tell them Happy Anniversary!!"
His Handmaid:: Thank you, Mrs, Lyn, I will tell them!
Emilee Elizabeth:: What a wonderful idea!! How special!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Reaching 25 years of marriage is a wonderful milestone and a testimony of the Lord's blessings!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Thanks again for posting your project! I think it's so nice to include pictuers of projects others have completed or are working on to encourage others! It's an inspiration!
Emilee Elizabeth:: *pictures
His Handmaid:: The papers and such that I used inside kind of had a Victorion/old fashioned look to them...I also included some marriage poems and sayings.
Emilee Elizabeth:: How neat!! I'm sure it turned out beautiful!
His Handmaid:: I know, I do love to see what everyone else is doing!
Emilee Elizabeth:: I've got back to working on my cross-stitch project... Yesterday I unfortunately didn't get the right floss and so I had to take out quite a few stitches of the wrong color. That's always a little disappointing...Oh well!
His Handmaid:: That is disapointing...I know exactly how you feel. I'm sure it's going to be so lovely when you have it finished.
Emilee Elizabeth:: Thank you for the encouragement! :)
His Handmaid:: I applaud you for taking on such a big project!
Emilee Elizabeth:: LOL! At times I say...I'm never going to do this again with all the 1/4 stitches! It is fun...when I use the right color floss!
Emilee Elizabeth:: I hope to have it done by the time my daughter gets married! LOL
His Handmaid:: LOL! :) I say that all the time, too!
His Handmaid:: (about never doing something again)
Emilee Elizabeth:: right!
Emilee Elizabeth:: It's fun though...no matter how long it takes. Just have to enjoy the process!
His Handmaid:: So do you like the style of Rebecca's dress? Just wondering what you thought.
His Handmaid:: That's part of the reason we cross-stitch I guess, because it's fun, too!
Emilee Elizabeth:: that's right! :)
Emilee Elizabeth:: Her dress is very modest and pretty!
His Handmaid::
Emilee Elizabeth:: I love the sweetheart neckline!
Emilee Elizabeth:: What did you think?
Emilee Elizabeth:: The bridesmaid's dresses were very pretty and modest too!!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Rebecca looks really tall! Is she tall?
His Handmaid:: I thought it was very pretty - not overdone on the beading or anything. I personally want a little higher neck and I also think a gathered skirt would look better on me.
Emilee Elizabeth:: It's nice that it wasn't overly beaded! I'm not much into an abundance of sequins and pearls.
Emilee Elizabeth:: I really don't like puffy fabric either.
His Handmaid:: I believe she's a bit taller than me...I'm around 5' 7" or so...she actually went barefoot, too, since she couldn't find decent, inexpensive ballet slippers -
His Handmaid:: she didn't want to be taller than Andrew!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Hmm! I've not heard of anyone going barefoot! ;)
Emilee Elizabeth:: She's the first one I've heard doing that!
His Handmaid:: Me either! LOL
Emilee Elizabeth:: I guess she would have been comfortable. Most times people complain about the shoes pinching... Rebecca didn't have that problem! lol!
His Handmaid:: She had the photographer take a picture of their feet together
Emilee Elizabeth:: LOL!
His Handmaid:: No, she didn't at all. The best man complained that his shoes were hurting him though!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Barefoot wouldn't be quite so noticible with a long dress...compaired to a suit! lol!
His Handmaid:: Oh my...LOL that is soooo funny to think of!! I guy in a suit with barefeet!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Yes...especially standing up at a wedding!
His Handmaid:: ;) At least it wasn't that noticable on Rebecca, except when she walked.
Emilee Elizabeth:: Have you seen the shoes that are clear?
Emilee Elizabeth:: They are clear pumps.
His Handmaid:: Yes! I think I have
His Handmaid:: Rather different.
Emilee Elizabeth:: They are, although I do think they are neat.
His Handmaid:: To each her own, I suppose!
Emilee Elizabeth::
His Handmaid:: Have you been to alot of weddings?
Emilee Elizabeth:: I've been a flower girl and a candle lighter numerous times...when I was little.
His Handmaid:: Ohwww...I bet you were pretty cute!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Last year I was the guestbook attendant at my aunt's wedding...other than my aunts wedding I haven't been to one in quite a while.
His Handmaid:: It's always interesting to see how everyone does things differently.
Emilee Elizabeth:: The dresses have been rather interesting...from being a minature bride to wearing a purple satin dress... I kind of looked like a grape! LOL
Emilee Elizabeth:: It is! I enjoy seeing the pictures too!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Have you all been to many weddings?
His Handmaid:: LOL!
His Handmaid:: No...except maybe one when I was a baby - this is my second wedding since I've been older.
His Handmaid:: The last wedding I didn't even know the couple, although they were very sweet.
Emilee Elizabeth:: I've never gone to a wedding where I didn't know the couple. :)
His Handmaid:: :) It was funny,LOL, but they knew my Grandma. They send me pictures of their little girl every once in awhile!
Emilee Elizabeth:: That's nice that they keep in touch! :) Is that the little girl who was in the picture on your signature at one time?
His Handmaid:: Yes, that was her - Alyssa. Her first birthday is this week
Emilee Elizabeth:: How exciting for them! :) My cousin just celebrated her 2 birthday! We had such a nice time at her party!!
His Handmaid:: How fun! I'm sure it's nice to have little cousins!
Emilee Elizabeth:: She will be meeting her new baby brother soon! He's due to arrive next week! Mom and I hope to go shopping for baby clothes soon! It's something we love to do.
His Handmaid:: My youngest cousin is around 9 or 10 I believe. She has cerebal palsy, but it's always nice to see her!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Geena is a lot of fun!
His Handmaid:: That does sound like fun Emilee!
Emilee Elizabeth:: I'm sorry to hear about that!
His Handmaid:: I always love to make things for someone having a baby!
Emilee Elizabeth:: We have a whole pile of baby patterns sitting before us now! lol
His Handmaid:: Yes, it's hard for her parents and all, but she is still very alert and smart!!
Emilee Elizabeth:: That's a wonderful blessing!
His Handmaid:: Well, have fun sewing!
Emilee Elizabeth:: It's hard to decide which one to try our hand at... so I suppose we'll just have to dive into one and see what happens.
His Handmaid:: It was nice to get another girl cousin on my mom's side - for the longest time I was the only girl among 3 boys!
His Handmaid:: (4 counting my brother)
Emilee Elizabeth:: Oh wow! You were out numbered!
His Handmaid:: If it turns out good (which I'm sure it will!), please post a picture!
Emilee Elizabeth:: lol!! okay we'll try to!
His Handmaid:: Yep, I was, although it some ways I enjoyed it, since I got more attention sometimes, LOL :) And I was the youngest, too!
Emilee Elizabeth:: LOL! ;) You made the most of it!
His Handmaid:: What kind of outfit are you considering?
Emilee Elizabeth:: Nothing wrong with enjoying the position God has placed you in!
Emilee Elizabeth::
His Handmaid:: LOL, Not at all
Emilee Elizabeth:: Well, we've got little layette patterns. They are patterns to knit or crochet. We found them free online and some are so cute!
His Handmaid:: Those sound nice... I'm sure whatever you make will be darling!
His Handmaid:: I wonder where Ruth and Deb are today?
Emilee Elizabeth:: When you make gifts for little ones... what do you usually make?
Emilee Elizabeth:: I don't know. It always seems to be rather quiet on Reminisce during the fall months. I think it's because some are starting back to school and others are busy getting the last bit of their garden in.
His Handmaid:: Good question - I'm actually in need of ideas! But do you mean for baby gifts or for toddlers?
His Handmaid:: Well, it's nice that we can still pop in every now and then, even if we are busy!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Either one! :)
Emilee Elizabeth:: Lion Brand yarn's website has some really nice FREE pattens online! You might want to look there.
Emilee Elizabeth:: It is nice to drop in and chat, as we can! :)
His Handmaid:: I don't have much experiance with toddlers so I'm rather at loss for them, but I have crocheted a blanket and booties, and also a pair of baby socks.
His Handmaid:: Thank you for the suggestion! I believe I've been there and checked them out before.
Emilee Elizabeth:: I've crocheted a ripple baby afghan. Those are so much fun to make!
His Handmaid:: That's the kind I made!
Emilee Elizabeth:: They turn out so pretty and are so easy to make! The pattern really sticks with you as you go.
His Handmaid:: Although it was fairly small. The booties were really quick and easy!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Mine was small too, but I am still pleased with how it turned out.
Emilee Elizabeth:: I did mine in alternating pastels.
Emilee Elizabeth:: I'm sure the booties turned out really cute!
His Handmaid:: I'm eager for some new babies, since I'd like to try a baby quilt or something. :)
His Handmaid:: My blanket was mint green with strips of white in it - since I didn't know wether it would be a boy or girl. That was for Alyssa, actually!
Emilee Elizabeth:: It's always nice to put them in the hope chest! Or have them made ahead for those little ones on the way!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Sounds pretty!!
His Handmaid:: I don't know of any babies on the way yet, but I always like to do it around the time, since I'm more motivated to do it.
His Handmaid:: Perhaps (???? big if) I'll someday get around to making one for my hope chest, but I always seem to have a ton of other projects that seem more important!
Emilee Elizabeth:: My aunt has a gift drawer and she always has baby layettes tucked away for future little ones. She makes them in pink, blue, yellow, and white. (They are always a solid color)
His Handmaid:: What a neat idea!
Emilee Elizabeth:: She's in her 70s now and has done that for years and years! (She's my Great-Aunt. :) )
His Handmaid:: I've got to think of something to do on the airplane on the way to Colorado and back - can't take my cross-stich or knitting. I doubt they'd let me through security with those needles!
Emilee Elizabeth:: I know how that is! I have my minature craft store of projects always calling my name. ;) I've been limiting myself now...and trying to direct my crafting to only one project at a time! lol!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Mom says most do allow crochet needles...but not knitting.
His Handmaid:: I have several projects that are partway started that are crying to be finished!
Emilee Elizabeth:: They do allow the interchangable knitting needles with the flexible plastic.
His Handmaid:: That's what I was thinking - crochet.
Emilee Elizabeth:: You'd definitly have time to work on a project on a flight like that!
Emilee Elizabeth:: It's something good to keep one occupied!
Emilee Elizabeth:: How long will your flight take?
His Handmaid:: Yes --- let me see... LOL I do think I have a sachet that I started crocheting last year!
Emilee Elizabeth:: lol!
His Handmaid:: I'm not sure...maybe around 3 hours?
Emilee Elizabeth:: You could probably take your tatting along. :) ...if you use the shuttle.
His Handmaid:: That's true! Tatting is a good idea!
Emilee Elizabeth:: That's much shorter than our 10+ hours... and I know it's much longer for you all.
Emilee Elizabeth:: It wouldn't take much space for packing.
His Handmaid:: The only thing is...what about scissers if I need to cut the thread (for crochet).
His Handmaid:: Oh yes! I'm SO glad we aren't driving, since we just did that long trip to Kansas!
Emilee Elizabeth:: There are little rings you can buy... and they have a little blade safely built in them that you can use to cut the thread with. I think you can find them at Wal-Mart. It's like the cutter on a sewing machine.
Emilee Elizabeth:: You can just wear it on your finger; it doesn't get lost and it's handy!
His Handmaid:: I've heard of those...maybe I'll have to get one!
Emilee Elizabeth:: They are less than $2.00 I believe!
His Handmaid:: ;) very good
Emilee Elizabeth:: I don't think you could inflict any harm one someone with it...so they'd probably allow it through security! To top it off, they are pretty too!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Will you all be driving or flying when you head east?
His Handmaid:: *" Ma'm I'm afraid you'll just be to dangerous with that cutter in your possesion..."*
His Handmaid:: *too
Emilee Elizabeth:: May I ask what your Father's proffesion is? I believe I remember...but I'm not quite sure.
His Handmaid:: We'll be driving to Vermont - that's a good 13 hours or so, too, but we're stopped at Niagra Falls on the way, and a couple places on the way back. That will help break up the hours.
Emilee Elizabeth:: LOL...or you could maybe use those blunt tipped kindgergarden scissors that are plastic.
His Handmaid::
Emilee Elizabeth:: Oh, that sounds like fun!!
Emilee Elizabeth:: The driving is usually a little part of the vacation for us...seeing different scenery. But after 14 trips through Kansas...I think I could sleep through it and not miss much.
His Handmaid:: He's an Assistant Bridge Engineer with the Federal Highway Administration. He also does alot of work with undergound mines beneath roads and such.
Emilee Elizabeth:: Wow! That sounds really interesting!
Emilee Elizabeth:: My Dad is a Nuclear Electrician.
His Handmaid:: Wow! That's quite a few trips through Kansas! The driving is always nicer when you don't have to do sooo much.
His Handmaid:: Wow! Now THAT sounds interesting too!!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Yes! We like to take little breaks on our trips... helps break up some of the monotony that develops!
His Handmaid:: *underground
His Handmaid:: Yes indeed
Emilee Elizabeth:: It is quite interesting... and at some times with the extra security that has to be taken b/c of the terrorism problems it can be concerning.
His Handmaid:: I imagine so.
Emilee Elizabeth:: I had so much fun chatting...but I probably should go finish up a few more English questions and then Mom and I are headed out to go baby clothes shopping!
His Handmaid:: I find it so intersting to learn what different people do...guess I never thought about all the thousands of different jobs there are out there!
Emilee Elizabeth:: I know! There is such a wide variety and each are interesting in their own way!
His Handmaid:: Okay! Well, thanks for chatting with me!
His Handmaid:: Have fun shopping!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Thank you! Have a great weekend!! And Happy Anniversary to your Mom and Dad!
His Handmaid:: And - do you have any prayer requests?
His Handmaid:: Thanks
Emilee Elizabeth:: Um, if you wouldn't mind to pray for my cousin, Steve. We'd really appreciate it!
His Handmaid:: Sure! May I ask his age (if he's not a grown up)
Emilee Elizabeth:: He's not been feeling well. He's a student Dr. and he's been working with people who are suffering with viral menengitis (sp). He's 23.
Emilee Elizabeth:: So, we're just praying that virus will stay away and he'll get to feeling better really soon!
His Handmaid:: Oh...I see. I certainly hope and pray that he won't get anything serious!
Emilee Elizabeth:: He has to travel to TN for an internship at the end of this month.
Emilee Elizabeth:: So he needs to be feeling really good in his health...and then the stress of this coming up is weighing on him. So we just really appreciate your prayers for him!
His Handmaid:: Well...it'll be awhile until I can chat again - we're leaving this Sunday, so I won't be around for a couple weeks!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Do you have any prayer requests?
His Handmaid:: Alright! I'll be praying for him!
Emilee Elizabeth:: We'll miss you!! Have a wonderful time and enjoy the mountains for me! We'll be praying that you all have safe travel, no altitude problems, and a wonderful time!
His Handmaid:: Just for safe travels, please! The Sunday of this one we're heading out to Vermont. We'll be home for less than 2 days!
His Handmaid:: Thank you Emilee! I'll let you go now. LOL
Emilee Elizabeth:: You're most welcome! Thanks so much for posting the pictures!!!
His Handmaid:: *after this one
Emilee Elizabeth:: Have a great time! God Bless!
His Handmaid:: No problem!
Emilee Elizabeth:: Bye now!
His Handmaid:: Bye!

Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Psalm 37:4
