this board was added to the list of Fan Links on Virgos.cc. so, maybe if people are smart enough they'll eventually start filtering in here time by time.

At this point, "official" means absolutely nothing.
The fact that we are all here makes it official.
The moment we get our old board back you can replace the link, otherwise not replacing the link is a loss for new fans.

i've posted the unofficial board's link to Virgos.cc as requested by vmisaac. the title 'official' does not mean a thing like you said, so why dub this one the official board? we all know this board is more important. this happened at virgosmerlot.com. the official board was junk-filled with crap [even though a *few* girls still kept it alive posting IM-type messages] while the unofficial board at Karo's virgosmerlot.org site was heavily populated with VM fans with great discussion. and people found their way there, even though it was an underground site. this is all very parallel to what is happening now.
as much as people may think, Virgos.cc is not a fansite + i don't have complete control on what goes on, though 99% of the time i do make the decisions for the site.
i'll inquire about the idea. in the meantime, this is the way it's going to be. if you want the new fans to come to this board, why don't you just post the link to the official one?

we are never going to get the old board back. as far as i've been told, the WebBoard application, which was the old board's interface + features, has been thrown out the window. 3Mountain has "tried" several times to get it to work, but have always "faced" problems with crashes + what not. so, they created this ezboard as a solution.
trust me. i loved the old board. it was one of my pets that i cared for alongside Virgos.cc + to see it die pains me because of all the awesome threads of discussion we had there--not to mention the features we will miss [i.e. paging, who's on, who was on, post stats, not being grouped w/ any other band's msg boards].

I apologize if this is getting annoying, but I am still a bit confused.

So you're saying you need Bandrags/JHMP's permission to change the link to the ezboard?

slightly like that.
i will need to discuss it with my contact at 3Mountain since they've set up the message boards that Virgos.cc had thus far. they are the same people who admin incoming mail as well as the server space for Virgos.cc + have been reasonably helpful whenever i'd ask for something done. so it's only fair that i let them know of our ideas first before calling to action as far as links on the official site.
if you all would like for this to be the official Virgos message board for Virgos.cc, please make yourselves known. keep in mind that this board is only free for a given time, then the annoying ads will begin to show their ugly faces [unless people pitch in + donate some funds like vmisaac has stated early on].
if there is a unanimous vote, i will present the idea to 3Mtn + if they agree, my idea is that they will take down the existing "Official Virgos Board" at bandrags.com + leave this one up to us. that's another thing. there will be little to no control over the database, so i don't know how this thing archives, admins, etc.
i'll set up a poll about this soon after this message is posted..

Damn I could have sworn I replied to this early, I must have been distracted before I could push the button.
There is only 7 days left for the trial mode. After that its 6 months for $41. I went ahead and turned everything on contributions wise. There are also ways of contributing money without actually giving money. Using the Accept Offer link you can sign up for offers and it will contribute money towards our community chest. Please becareful if that is something that you choose to do, I do not know if those are good deals and I don't want people taking on extra credit if you can't handle it.
