Don't have a hopechest yet? Hi Ladies!I just wanted to encourage those of you who do not have a hopechest, yet, to not feel you cannot begin saving things for your future home! A rubbermaid storage container works great for a beginning hopechest, or when you have blessings overflowing! Don't have a lot of money? Garage sales and flea markets are great places to find treasures to tuck away! You might find something that costs a lot $$$ for only a few cents! That's something to shout about and praise the Lord for! Oh, and if you have a Dollar Tree, Dollar Shop, or Dollar General around your area these are also great places to shop for reasonable, yet practical, items for your hopechest!Let's see some of my favorite items I've found at flea markets are... linens, Currier & Ives glasses set, dishes, pictures, books, ect! Purchasing items, and storing things away for the future helps you learn money management too! The Lord helps us know exactly how to budget, if we ask Him! Do you have any hints and tips on how you're budgeting your money now, even before you have your own family? Or what about those ladies with us who have a family now, could you give us some advice? Please share with us! I look forward to your posts, and hope this little note has served to encourage you that little is much when God is in it. Blessings in Messiah! Emilee Elizabeth Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Psalm 37:4 |

Re: Don't have a hopechest yet?
Too true, Emilee Elizabeth! I remember my bedroom closet shelves being completely full with all that I had started collecting. My hope closet was a huge help to me when dh and I were getting started.

Re: Don't have a hopechest yet? What should you do if you have no room for even a rubbermaid box? My room is so extremely small and I share it with a sister, that I have simply no room for even a rubber maid box! LIC, Krista Edited by: YeshuasTikvah at: 1/31/03 12:03:17 pm |

Re: Don't have a hopechest yet? Do you have room under your bed? I have some big flat rectanguler rubbermaid boxes under my bed, that I got at Wal-Mart! They are great for storing flat things. I'am not sure were you would put big things?!? I hope this helps. ~*~Shannon~*~ |

Re: Don't have a hopechest yet? Under my bed...hmmmn, that is an idea! I'll have to see if there is any space--not much of it though, what with all my letters and excess books! ~Krista

Re: Don't have a hopechest yet? Well, I'm afraid i have no room even for a rubbermaid chest We're remodeling our house right now, so there's basically no room for my things right now. It's kinda everywhere. I do have my bridal and bridesmaids dress patterns Call me strange, but I do. I just figured it may not be there years down the road from now, and it's exactly what i've wanted Anyway, if I had any extra room, i'd do that. I do have a rubbermaid containter under my bed, actually i have 4, but I can't put anything for a hopechest yet Oh well, I will eventually Blessings, Deb Edited by: singergirl01 at: 2/1/03 6:51:58 pm |

I've thought about going ahead and beginning to collect, but it is almost a sentimental thing to me. My parents will give me a hope chest when they feel I need to start collecting, and I don't want to rush to start collecting until they give me a chest.
