Door Panels
I am beginning to restore a 70 rr. I have an excellent set of door panels, but they are the wrong color.
My question is can these be repainted or what is the best process to change the color. The ones I have are dark green and I need black.

Re: Door Panels
Matt is right, you need to prep them and spray them with vinyl dye.Check with your local auto parts/paint supply store. They should have a special prep that bonds the paint to the vinyl.

Re: Door Panels
Vinyl dye will work really well on green to black. If they were for a 69 I'd be trying to talk you out of them. Actually I just ordered new ones from Legendary.

Re: Door Panels
I redyed the white door panels in my wifes Charger and used acetone to prep it. Worked really well and I almost didn't even dye them!
