Drum brake conversion
I am right in the middle of restoring a 69 RR. As usual my son and I are on a limited budjet, I would llike to upgrade the brakes but do not want to lay out 600.00 to 800.00 bucks for a disc conversion. Has anyone ever added a power booster and master cylinder to up the hydraulic pressure on standard drums. The wheel cylinders and lines are already new.

Re: Drum brake conversion
You could just go the tried and true disc barke conversion and use spindles and all from a Aspen/Volarie. These parts a available in any bone yard and are cheap. If you want to stay with manual brakes, just get a master cylinder from a manual disc A body Duster. I've done this swap many times and it's affordable and works great. On my GTX I have a set-up from a 1979 Cordoba with hugh rotors, but I have to use 15" rims for now on ... which is fine.

Just my thoughts.

when I have more time I will go into detail about the swap which is great by the way. Try to find a copy of mopar action that has the swap as they go into FULL detail.

Brake Conversion
Since Mopar Action Magazine was the first to write about this swap, and just put some content on their website, go to D -->>D isc Brake swap to learn everything you need to know about this.

Re: Brake Conversion
Hello.

Check out moparts.com There is a listing there that tells you what you'll need to do the conversion.

Re: Brake Conversion
you can also use the 73-76A body spindles, rotors etc.,i like the 79 cordoba myself, they have the huge 11.75 inch rotors and you don't have to install a booster, they work fine as manual, also doesn't rob any engine vacuum or firewall space that way either

Re: Brake Conversion
is this true of all cordobas? or just the 79s
i also am interested in doing the disc conversion
on my 69 coronet.
also is it just a matter of using the spindles, rotors, calipers and hoses or would i need more parts from the doner car?

thanks
