Engine Removal
This might sound kind of dumb, but when you lift an engine out of your car is it better to seperate the trans from the engine,or to take it out with the trans attached.Which is easiest.

Engine Removal
It is definetely easier to split the engine and transmission if you are pulling the engine from the top. However, if you are dropping out the bottom like the factory did it, leave it together. I built a jig to drop K-member, engine and transmission as an assembly. Now that's the way to go.

Re: Engine Removal
I agree....once you take it in and out from the bottom like the factory did, you'll never go back! The only way to go...and in a pinch, you can do it with a couple of furniture dollies and four strong friends!

Engine/Transmissions
A friend and I are getting ready to start marketing the engine jig that I am referring to. Here is a photo of what it looks like. Let me know if there is any interest. Check out this link.
