FFX..
Well, believe it or not.. i have put a few hours of play into this PS2 "marvel" and meh, whilst the battles are rather good, i find the fact that its technically revolved all around making it look heaps fancy with graphics and stuff.. a prime example being, those damn Aeons.. after you get Yuna to bring one of them down, it takes like.. damn, nearly 2 minutes for the damn flashy looking animations to get the hell over with, and then you would finally get the Aeon, only to find out it takes almost just as long to do their damn special attack.. urgh.. thats one of the things that pissed me off about it.
Another thing, relating to the Aeons is.. Bahamut, i saw him for the first time in FFX yesterday, and my jaw nearly hit the ground as to how STUPID he looked, heh.. he looks nothing like a Dragon at all now, damn you fucking designers!! and that rotating ring on his back is a real like, turn off.. lol. i got no complaints about Shiva though ^_^ she be nice lookin, hehe.. and Ifrit is a big muthafucker now, his overdive is insane, heh.
Ok, uh.. one last thing off the top of the my head that pisses me off when it comes to FFX.. is the damn voices, of everyone pretty much.. Tidus sounds like some little 8 year old kid, so does Rikku.. Wakka sounds like some stoned Jamacin guy (looks like it to, in his character portrait, heh), i'd have to say the only decent sounding characters are Auron and Lulu, heh..
Firstly the animations....you can cut the time down by choosing short animation sequences in some sort of far away menu (i dunno how to do it, never tried )
Secondly...i personally think bahamut looks cool, although if he was less colourful, he would have looked cooler. The ring on his back does actually stand for something, i think its the ring of life or sommit i can't remember
But i do agree with you, Tidus sounds like a little girl, he's a bit of a pussy to be a lead character
and i'm guessing you haven't used anima yet.....i think you'll like her buahaha

Heh, well yeah.. my friend and I found that "Short Aeon cutscenes" option and enabled it ASAP, but ehh.. it still drags it on way too long for its own good IMO, Yojimbo likes to take his times with attacks, so does Bahamut.. heh.

Yojimbo kicks ass.......get him to a high enough speed and evasion and nothing can hit him , then you just bide your time till he zanmoto's someone's punk ass
But yeh they do still take quite a while, i just checked it out, i'll let them off though cos they kick so much ass

Heh, funnily enough.. my mate and I went up against Seymour with every single Aeon on Overdrive, mwuhaha.. did marvels i tell ya.. and Yojimbo dodged quite a few attacks, before uh.. he got banished, that is.. lol.. but the same thing happened at the top of a the peak of a mountain before the ruined city, some bigass tiger looking thing got Yojimbo into Overdrive, we payed him 1000 Gil, and he did that Zanmoto attack, which killed it instantly..
Which i must say was good, since the monster just casted Curaga on itself for 9999 HP per turn (it got 2 turns) so yeah ^^..

i like the magus sisters.....but their whole entire overdrive takes like a loooong ass time to do, but it looks real cool, but watching it on end can get a bit.....annoying its just that long -_-' yojimbo is cool when he does the attack where he slices thru all the enemies, cleaving them all(killing them, obviously) and anima is wicked awesome as well. And yah, wakka is pretty much a stoner jamaican guy . I like Tidus's overdrive "Blitz Ace" it looks cool. Speaking of which.....have you guys played blitz ball? i pwn at it...it became so addicting. but quite fun too

exactly...most people i talked to hate blitz ball or suck at it, but when you get semi-good at it its addicting....i spent 4 hours of just playing blitz ball and got Rikku's Brother to like lvl 20 something and the other teams are around lvl 11...lol

Yeah, it's pretty obvious that Square got a little too ecited when they found out that they could finally put some nice graphics into an FF game. However, I also think that Final Fantasy X isn't THAT bad of a game. I mean, ya know, some people actually do like to watch long animations of the Aeons and whatnot. I liked to watch them for awhile, but yeah, after awhile, it gets kind of annoying. It's all about the "experience" of playing the game and crap like that.
The main downsides I found in FFX were:
1) How @#%$ hard it was to fully power up most of the characters' final weapons.
2) How hard it is to get anything really good at the end of the game, only to find that they're not even that useful by that point of the game.
3) YU YEVON = TEH SUXOR!
My Yuna casted Reflect on him, and then my Auron pounded his ass into the ground for the WHOLE FIGHT, and the only attack he got in on me was Osmose. HAHAHAHAHA! My Auron PWNED Yu Yevon beyond belief, and he wasn't even using any "ultimate" equipment, just custom stuff I gave him. The final boss was a MAJOR disappointment, especially after how long I spent beefing up my guys for the final dungeon and battles.
Yeah, overall, it's a fun game to play when you're bored, though. Nothing wrong with that.

Personally, I think that Square has always had nice (if not amazing) graphics for all of its games. (The marching MagiTek armours in FFIII/VI had me practically drooling when I first saw it.) If Square was too excited about anything, it would be the including of voices, which I thought were done amazingly well.
FFX is one of the better FFs. It's pretty and a little whimpy in its story-line. However, it more than makes up for that in its style and overall enjoyment. I liked it more than VII. (I'm one of the rare FFers to actually put VII below VIII though, so do what you will with my opinion.)

Eh, i always tended to see Tidus as the good'ol Mediocre (yet Versatile) Red Mage which a touch of the Time Mage and Fighter to go with it.. heh, shame their wasnt any "official classes" in the game.. would've made for a challenge i say!
The thing with the new games is that everyone has magic of some sort (the call them techs or whatever). There really couldn't be any classes. Everything is all meshed together. Tidus is just a high-agility fighter type. I would relate him closer to a paladin, but that's only because he is the leader. He really isn't holy or fanatically against evil as a paladin is. He has too many inner-demons to be a paladin. Also, he couldn't be a time-mage because he is so much more of a fighter type than a mage type. The weird thing about the game is that anyone can get any spell, but that doesn't me anyone is a wizard of a certain 'school' because he has the haste spell, for example.
