Favourite Quotes?
Ok, it's about time we had one of these!
My favourite quotes are in ROTK (and God help PJ if the get left out, though one is already cocked up because it was given to Theoden )
First: Out of doubt, out of dark to the day's rising
I came singing in the sun, sworf unsheathing.
To hope's end I rode and to heart's breaking:
Now for wrath, now for ruin and a red nightfall!
and second: Mourn not overmuch! Mighty was the fallen,
meet was his ending. When his mound is raised,
women then shall weep. War now calls us!

Re: Favourite Quotes?
From the book?
Or from the movie?
I don't remember any from the book.
But I like the one on Sam "Don't go anywhere I can't follow" or something like that.
On the movie I've got severals... But my fav scene have always been Gandalf fighting with the Barlog so
Re: Favourite Quotes?
Short attention span hey? I don't know what I'd do without having read lotr... I mean, I read them all the time (waiting for buses, trains, classes to start, work to start etc)
Re: Favourite Quotes?
- oh and from either, book or movie... book is just easier because you can already find them written down (and we all know how well you hear English Saura )
Sorry.. .that was nasty, I'm sorry... will you forgive me?

NO, I WON'T YOU BAD-GIRL
and btw... book is not easier, just because my book is in spanish... i can hear, i can copy... but I simply can't transate the fucking book-quotes into proper english!
In the name of Imagination...
From the movie...The World is changed.
I feel it in the Water,
I feel it in the Earth,
I smell it in the Air.
Much that once was is lost
for now none live to remember...
And most of all I loved how Cate Blanchet speaks during this narration.

Re: From the movie... I have my books of LORD OF THE RINGS beside my bed , like the bible or something like that, I never get tired of read them and as you probably know Vadas yes my favorit parts are Sam and frodo , here they are:
He shook his head, as if finding words useless, and murmured, "I love him. He's like that, and sometimes it shines through, somehow. But I love him, whether or no." (Sam, TTT, Of Herbs and Stewed Rabbit)
At that moment, there was a knock on the door and Sam came in. He ran to Frodo and took his left hand, awkwardly and shyly. He stroked it gently, and then he blushed, and turned hastily away" (FOTR, Many Meetings)
"...safe, if you lay close to me. I'd be dearly glad to see you have a sleep. I'd keep watch over you, and anyway, if you lay near, with my arm round you, no one could come pawing you without your Sam knowing it."
"Sleep!" said Frodom and sighed, as if out of a desert he had seen a mirage of cool green, "Yes, even here I could sleep."
"Sleep, then, master! Lay your head in my lap.
And so Gollum found them hours later, when he returned, crawling and creeping down the path out of the gloom ahead. Sam sat propped against the stone, his head dropping sideways and his breathing heavy. In his lap lay Frodo's head, drowned deep in sleep; upon his white forehead lay one of Sam's brown hands, and the other lay softly upon his master's breast. Peace was in both their faces. (TTT, the Stairs of Cirith Ungol)
"Frodo! Mr. Frodo, my dear!" cried Sam, tears almost blinding him. "It's Sam, I've come!" He half lifted his master and hugged him to his breast. Frodo opened his eyes.
"Am I still dreaming?" he muttered, "but the other dreams were horrible."
"You're not dreaming at all, Master," said Sam. "It's real. It's me. I've come."
Re: From the movie... This one how can I forget this one:
Sam felt like he could sit like that in endless happiness; but it was not allowed. It was not enough for him to find his master. He had still to try and save him. He kissed Frodo's forehead, "Come! Wake up, Mr. Frodo!," he said, trying to sounds as cheerful as he had when he drew back the curtains at Bag End on a summer's morning. I want a sam.
well so far i love the book its very good... i used to be able to read books in a night cause i wouldnt be able to sleep unless i finished it, but my health issues have put and end to that i cant stay still for very long....
Would your inner child like to come out and play with my inner child?
Re: From the movie... Yes I know Vadas that you don't like Sam , Is all mine . What? Dumbass , sorry to see that you are sick What is your problem hunny , if you don't mine asking?
Re: From the movie...
i wont go into too much detail but a combination of things that make life unconfortable...
but i try not to let it affect me as much... i have my good days and my bad..
more good though
Would your inner child like to come out and play with my inner child?
Re: From the movie...
Well Saura, read the English book then I do that too, because they changed those names in Dutch, Merry is Merrijn and Pippin is Peppijn , How dumb or those people!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!
So, I bought the book in English so I could read it good. And see the qoutes good ^_^
I have many fave qoutes, but of the movie my fave is if Frodo says to Gandalf 'your late'
I love that so much! It's so cute!
Re: From the movie...
hehe!
In spanish we never change the names. So Merry has always been Merry and Pipin had always been pipin....
That quote is so cute is true. And is Elijah's fav....

Re: From the movie...
My fav line from FOTR is either simply "buckleberry ferry" (i know my speeling is off but i am sick) or "A short cut" "a short cut to what" "mushrooms" Or "whats that?" "this is a pint" "it comes in pints, i'm getting one"
Pero...But they do change the names to Spanish, Saura, remember thar Meriadoc Brandybuck is Meriadoc Brandígamo, Frodo Baggins is Frodo Bolsón ( ) and Strider is Trancos.
Re: Pero...
Oh, yeah Gatuna... but is not like we change the names... we translate them (and is anoying when you read them in english the first time, isn't it?) hehe...
Yeah.. I love the "it comes on pints?" quote too!... is soo funny... and all that conversation between Merry and pipin about the second breakfast and that... hilarious!.
