Firebomb group buy
For those that are interested Race Magazine will be organising a group buy of Lifeline/Sparco 4 lt mechanical firebombs. There are the foam filled, steel tank mechanical systems that come with the plumbing kit and 4 outlets. The systems are refillable and FIA approved.
The systems will be provided through Meridian Motorsport and normal retail is $750. The group buy price is $595 (plus delivery if you are not in Melbourne) including GST.
The process will be as follows: The group buy will be advertised in the next issue of Race Magazine and will be declared closed at a particular date. People who wish to participate will need to have registered and paid a $100 deposit. This money and all of the details will be handed over to Meridian and they will order the systems. If you have any questions please ask.

Re: Race Mag
By the way Neil - Like the Magazine
I note Tony Skinners Car in Issue two, and the more IP cars the better I say
(seriously - the build of some of the IP cars is relevent to all other sedans and it is top class work) A feature on something modern like the Parsons Honda would be nice (and he will be down at Sandown in a couple of weeks) Although Phil may not want to give his secrets out
When is issue three due out?

Re: Race Mag
I'm glad you like the mag, it is a tough buisness, but the feedback has been very positive....I just need to sell more and get more advertising - I think everyone who publishes a magazine would say the same thing!.
I agree re IPRA and I am tracking to build of a couple of cars now. I would'nt mind having a go myself...but just too damn busy and the Godiva project is another 3 years work to complete.
Tony's car is very good and he and Trav are quite committed in their approach. Phill Morris obviously did a great job to get the car to where it is too. I will try and get along to Sandown and speak to the Honda guys.
When the website is up and running I will try and get some incar video from an IPRA car on there.
Issue 3 will be out in 4 weeks.
Re: Race Mag
Yep the Morriss' build a fine car (two s's by the way)
Bad news is that Tony's car threw a rod out the side of the block at the event after the Sandown you took the photo's at.... I think he blames you puting the moz on

Mind you the engine had not been opened in 2 years or more?
So new car or new engine for the remaining rounds?

Re: Race Mag
for those that are interested a refill is around $100 and service life is resonable.
Re: Race Mag
This is why I asked as I have been keeping an eye out for it but haven't seen it yet.

firebombs
A total hijack here, does anyone know if AFFF extinguishers meet AS1841.
Been offered a "special" deal out of the States on a system that retails for US$289. Apparently, it can be refilled and charged at the track!! using a CO2 cartridge, don't know what the scrutineers reaction to that would be though.

Re: firebombs
The discharge of AFFF systems has environmental implications, I guess youd have to have a close look at the CAMS manual to find out if they are OK for scrut point of view.
As for refilling at the track, Id be a little surprised, charging maybe. Anyone have more info?
