This is a free, private workshop managed by fellow writers with instructing and editing experience. Membership is by application or invitation only. We are interested in serious writers who will participate regularly in the areas of writing, reviewing, research, and general how-do-you-dos.
With the many exciting changes taking place in the world of publishing, there are specific benefits to becoming involved in a closed workshop environment. Here are just a few: less chance of copyright infringement, more intensive comment and critique, deeper investments of time and skill by fellow workshop members, honesty in writing and review within the safety net of a home environment, privacy from casual websurfers to create and comment, total anonymity if you choose.
Here are a few benefits of joining this workshop specifically: no censorship beyond what is imposed by our legal system regarding spam and child protection, adults only with whom to share your work and your time. All this and more--free of charge!
How to Join: Due to ezboard SOP, the process is three-fold.
1. Click the "Apply for Membership" button at the bottom of this page
2. Submit a short fiction or non-fiction piece--no more than 1000 words--via email to
hvysmker@woh.rr.com or forwritersbywriters@yahoo.com Use the word “subscribe” in the heading. Make sure to give your Ezboard User Name Ezboard membership is required since this is an Ezboard site. It is free and easy to get, not requiring any personal information.
You must copy and paste the email address, too, as ezboard does not allow html on this application page. You MUST have your ezinbox or email address enabled to receive our reply to your application!
3. If the writing sample is accepted you will be sent a short sample story to CRITIQUE. It is not a test to see if you find all the errors, but you’d be surprised at the writers who can’t critique. Be as harsh as you want or need to be. And send it in a reply.
We will read your submission and review, and make a unified decision about whether or not you are a good fit for this workshop. You'll be informed of our decision within forty-eight hours. Usually much sooner. We will not release or sell your personal information, we merely like to know with whom we are dealing.
Once accepted, please post an introduction in the "Introduction" forum. It can be as brief or as lengthy as you like.
