Fray Tech Sheets
The addition of computerized race management will be a welcome improvement at the 2001 Fray. With all the interest in how racers set up their cars, I'd also like to see the addition of tech sheets for the cars running in the elimination round. It could be simple form where racers list:

Body (mfg. & style)
Front Wheels
Front Tires
Rear Wheels
Rear Tires

Whatcha think?

Re: Fray Tech Sheets
This isn't a bad idea. Trouble might be that Phillis or the racers don't want the additional paperwork.

Maybe we could go another way. The guys producing the parts could make little decals for their products that we could mount on our cars.

post fray question
How about some post-Fray interviews with various teams
and posting set ups for the rest of us?

Fray Setups
I was one of maybe 15 racers who helped tech in at the Fray. It was interesting to check out what everyone was running. My impressions:

Bodies: Aurora GT cars the most popular - lots of Lolas, Ferrari Dinos and 250GTs, Ford GT40s. There were other bodies which did well, the most notable being Walter McClurg's 2nd place overall finisher which I think was a Model Motoring '67 Chevelle.
Fronts: Lots of Wizzard front ends. Thunder Engineering, Tomy, and Tyco front ends also popular.
Rears: Slip-on silicones appeared to be more popular than silicone sponge tires.

This was my third Fray, and after each one, I'm amazed at how fast these nearly stock tjets can be made to run!

Fray car specs...
Mark...I believe Walter was running an MEV body, not MM. It was definitely unusual, most people did run short wheel base cars...but the local drivers were able to hustle the long wheelbase cars around those snaky tracks very well.

These are the cars I ran at the Fray, and were pretty typical of what the East Coast MMRT ran. Front wheels/tires are Wizzard, rears ThunderRubbers with brp hubcaps.
