Godscare online tour of HEAVEN & HELL Hey Faithful Knights! Wondered if you would like to help me with somthing. We have created a virtual tour through Heven and Hell online at our website... and quite frankly we've gotten some flak about the way it was done... of course plenty of complements as well. Check it out if you want... but I have a question for you... What do you think Heaven and Hell will be like? We've gotten alot of responces about this that have varied, but if you have a particular understanding of Heaven or Hell that is unique we would like to use it if it's not to far out there. One guy wrote a story about Life in Hell that is CHILLING and it was so good we put it in the tour! anyway, wanna help? GC WWW.GODSCARE.NET |

hell
(not that i esteme myself to be a Faithful Knight, but i will reply)
i had an insight one day. i was walking and i looked at the sun and a flash of a thought rang in my head that: hell is like the sun without the light and heaven would be like the sun without the heat. for me this was an overwhelming understanding. it's as though the Lord actually touched my heart and filled me with this thought. the most important aspect of hell is that one is separated from the Lord FOREVER, i don't know if there is a way to portray that. E.V. Hill has a good sermon (i don't wanna go to hell) where there is a description of what happens to people in hell - to get it just do a search on his name and the title, it should pop up. hope this helps. |

Re: hell I liked CS Lewis' assertion (no big surprise there) in his book 'The Great Divorce' that hell being ultimately a separation from God, and heaven being ultimately a personal relationship with God; those who 'will be' in hell can honestly say that they were already in hell on earth, and those who 'will be' in heaven can honestly say that they were already in heaven on earth. Beyond that, my main problem with trying to depict either heaven or hell is that this necessitates depicting who is IN either of these places, and I reject the (imho) satanic temptation to seize this authority for myself (to decide who is in heaven and who is in hell) which God has not given to me. He will judge. I may single out a sinful 'Saul' for an obvious candidate for hell, while God looks upon the man and sees the 'Paul' that God has called, just not yet. Eric |

Re: hell I actually enjoy the concept, although this is not one of my Christian moments, of Jean Paul Satre's description of hell in 'No Exit'. A very enjoyable play, imo. Basically hell is a single room for eternity with two other people that are your complete opposites, that just GET UNDER your skin, to say the least. It is a little deeper than that, but some days, when people are nasty or mean for no good reason, I kinda wish they end up in a place like that. =) Once again, not one of my more Christian moments... Re: hell LOL TC! I posted about what I thought about heaven or hell! Not what I thought about myself! LOL! Like you, I am very grateful that God reserves the right to make those judgments for Himself! Eric |

Re: hell I'm reading Dante's The Divind Comedy right now (trying to work my way through it, at least), and The Inferno was very well written. Not sure if you're going to want to use that as a basis, as Dante's vision of Hell is exactly that - Dante's; he quantifies sins and rates them in an order from least severe to most severe in his own opinion. Mind you, I'm inclined to agree with his arrangement, on the most part, but I don't share the mind of God, much as I would like to.
