H.E.R. Initiative Re-Launch: Introducing C.H.E.R.I.
Effective immediately, the H.E.R. Initiative is expanding from 3 to 5 fan bases, and is being re-launched as C.H.E.R.I. (Cat-Hillary-Erika-Robin-Ilene), to include Catherine Hickland and Ilene Kristen. These two women also deserve our combined support and will now be recognized formally in this campaign. I had the opportunity of spending time with both women at the August fan events weekend. They are gorgeous, warm, witty, funny, generous and gracious – not to mention amazingly talented - and have dedicated years of service to ABC and to the fans. C.H.E.R.I. Cafepress Store
I just want to let you guys know that Susan redesigned the Cafepress store for us, to reflect the new campaign and the inclusion of Catherine & Ilene. C.H.E.R.I. Goes International
It is with great excitement I announce the formal endorsement of C.H.E.R.I. (Cat-Hillary-Erika-Robin-Ilene) by Gregory Isaac. Greg founded both SaveDisneyShows.org and FixDisney.com, which are “umbrella” fan-based initiatives. Essentially, he is attempting to accomplish everything within the Disney sphere of programming that we are trying to do within the ABC daytime medium. Greg has graciously agreed to endorse and promote C.H.E.R.I. on both of his websites and to all of his participants. In return, I have agreed to pass information onto all of our participants concerning his initiative, which shall be forthcoming. I had several discussions with Greg about the initiative and our fight for HBS, and he is infuriated and has agreed to support us in any way possible. As part of that, he will be passing on Logan’s TV Guide write-up to his participants and incorporating that into his correspondence to the network on behalf of us. He is also writing Disney’s Board of Directors (including CEO Robert Iger) and Anne Sweeney, and has offered to cross-reference the campaign in his correspondence. Folks, this is HUGE. He has an international presence, with fans participating from as far away as Japan, the UK and Europe. This means that people from around the world will now have access to the campaign, and scores more people will be writing on behalf of HBS (and our other 4 C.H.E.R.I. women) and joining our fight out of principle. As part of our agreement, Greg will be linking my contact information and campaign info via Hillary’s Message Board and the C.H.E.R.I. thread on SOC. I had been working on this project for the past few days, but wanted to ensure it was solidified before I brought it you. In any event, the timing is perfect.

CHERI Fundraising Drive
It is with great pleasure that I kick-off a fundraising drive for Catherine Hickland as part of our CHERI Initiative collaboration. Some of you may know that Cat is actively involved with the West End Intergenerational Residence (WIR), which is a unique, mixed-age housing facility catering to three generations. WIR provides dignified, affordable housing for disadvantaged families and senior citizens in the NYC metro area. WIR also provides vocational training, employment internships and community-based resources to assist homeless young women in providing a quality life for themselves and their families. Cat has been very active with the WIR facility for numerous years, and gives an incredible amount of personal time and support to this organization. I am kicking off the fundraiser in the spirit of the holiday season, which is swiftly upon us, and will keep the drive open for the next 6-7 months. When I present Catherine with a check for WIR next year, this will be done so in honor of CHERI, Hillary and Catherine. That said, the drive is open to CHERI and non-CHERI participants alike. In supporting WIR, you are truly supporting both women and embracing the spirit of their friendship. If you would like more information on WIR, or wish to discuss donations, please e-mail me.
