Hail and Behold the Temple of Ninhursag-Ki !!!!
Greetings to all sisters and brothers of the Gateways.
I am sending you warm greetings and a little piece that I am working of for a Mask Dance Drama at the Convocation of Isis this October. My partner is playing Enki and I am playing Ninhursa-Ki..
I would love your feed back to make it the best it can be.. Ideas welcome...
I have a great Love For Ninhursag-KI and will be sharing those experiences with her here.
The Original Sin .
It all started long ago in a land that was the brightest land,
The cleanest land.
A land so bright
So clean
So pure
It was like a star in our sky at night…
In this land all the ugly people could not say they were ugly,
All the poor could say that they were, and all the lonely were never alone
Never did the hungry ever their stomachs cry out from hunger.
The animals of this land all loved their lady of this rock and stony world
The Raven never cried ,
The wolf stole no eues and
The lion liad down with the lamb…
This kingdom was the land of great brother of the waters
Along with his beautiful sister goddess and ruler of the stony Earth.
Their names were…
Enki and Ninhursag-Ki
One day this Great Lady that made all Kings Kin sat upon the land doing what all mother goddesses do best ….
As she took in the day she was full of ecstatic feelings from the great waters of life which she and her brother had recently shared.
From these expressions beautiful trees, shrubs and vegetation began to fill the land…
Trees and shrubs produced wonderful fragrant flowers and sweet tasting foods that gave the gods great pleasure.
After this recent creating had come to a lull she said:
“I think that I will do another thing that is wise and great ,
I will lay down with the lion and the lamb over there and dream of new lands and creations that I shall make for the love of my brother and my union”.
Later that day Enki the god of the sea brother to the stony land, awoke form a nap and found himself lying in the reeds with a little fox .
With the sun on his face and ground under his belly he said to the little fox;
Tell me fox what are all this green all around us???

That is a berry bush.
And this one?
Oh that is a mango tree,
And this one??
Oh that is an honey tree.
(And as the lord approached the trees he was drawn to eat them and so he did,
trunk stem leaf and root.)
(Just then Ninhursag-Ki wakes up and sees her brother eating her trees and shrubs.)
In a fit of anger she said!!!
What are you doing Enki!
Damn you!
I just finished creating all of this and what do you !
You instantly eat it all …
No reguard for life or beauty or me ..Just your stomach!!!!
These happen to be our offspring that I created from our union of the waters of life.
What have you done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so angry from this day on I will not look at you with the Eyes of Life…
And so she walked off and proceeded to do just that.
Enki’s now in real trouble you see for Ninhursag is the Goddess of all original essence grace and fertility…
Without her all the rain and sunshine could not possibly conceive any life and the Sea God began to dry up
(Enki speaks)
Little fox…
What am I going to do??
One can not go around and making the Great Mother… Motherless.
I have eaten all of her children and worse yet my children and I am now drying up from the lack of her loving embrace!!!!
What will happen?
All is lost unless you with your crafty nature can bring the Goddess back to me in good favor.
You are her favorite creature …
Please I beseech you go to her and bring her back to me…
I will do this for you my Lord if the reward is right.
Just name the price oh little 4 footed one and it is yours just run quickly and bring the great mother of this stony land to me and prevent this end which is certain to bring doom and peril.
So the fox ran off and brought back Enki’s sister Ninhursag-Ki.
Seeing the lord bent over and drying up due to the lack of her loving essence, She was filled with yet another quality earth goddess are consumed with…
Forgiveness and compassion.
Just then Ninhursag-Ki bent down , took Enki into her blood and with her womb she took his pains from the sins he had committed; combined them with forgiveness and compassion from the essence of the stony land and she birthed beautiful godlike woman and man children.
Then she began to put forth upon the rocky earth, the green that Enki had recently eaten and they walked together as one under the golden sun happy once again in the Land of Dilman…

Delighted to visit the newly created temple to the Great Mother of Mesopotamia, and even more so for the lovely summarized account of "Enki and Ninhursag!
I enjoyed the description of Dilmun and you handled very well the summazied retelling of this great myth
I would just change the title to Before the Original Sin. Because the notion of original sin in the Old Testament Bible was related to the notion of arrrrrgh chastity and the evils of flesh (snif snif). You are right in your line of thought, of course. This myth is the reversal of the Genesis. I just luv to more stress our side of the story. Afterall, Enki is the passionate greedy one...
I know already the presentation will be a great success!
