Do any of you do hand embroidery? This is another one of my favorite handiwork skills. It is so relaxing and creative. Super easy too!! I've made some of my own patterns before, and it's a lot of fun... especially to see the finished project! I like all colors... the redwork and bluework are so pretty too. A store in Hannibal, MO has a wonderful display of embroidery samples. They have a shelf, close to the ceiling, that goes all along the outer walls of the store, absolutely filled to overflowing with such neat projects. They have pillows, pictures, tablecloths, quilts, and just about everything you can think of on display. A lot of their embroidery designs are from the 1800s or based on designs from them, which makes it especially neat. So if you ever get to Hannibal, MO be sure and drop in "Hickory Sticks." If you love fabric and embroidery, this is the place to go! There are shelves and shelves of fabric. Just talking about it makes me want to go visit again! My mom and I have so much fun there. We have some friends in West Virginia, and their little boys used to embroidery with their big sister, when they were little. We got to see some of their work, it was REALLY good!! They were working on a family quilt. Well, I'd better go take care of the chickens . Have a wonderful evening! Blessings in Jesus! Emilee Elizabeth It's a lil cool here! Pray for the peace of Jerusalem... Psalm 122:6 |

Hello! I do hand embroidery too, but I actually haven't done any in a while. I enjoy it! Particularly crosstitch. The last project I did was a queen-size quilt, over 1,000 pieces. Yes, it took me a LONG time to finish. Atlanta |

Hello! Well, the quilt pieces I used where all the same shape -- the shape of a tumbler. I sewed rows of blocks together, then sewed the rows to each other. Because it was so large, I quilted every other square around its edge, and every other square that I didn't do that with, I quilted on a simple design. It is hard to describe. Atlanta |
