Harry Potter And Satanism.
I Have Read In Countless Newspapers/Magazines/Web Sites etc, About The Satanic References Featured Within Harry Potter Books, I Have Never Actually Read The Books Myself.
Have Anyone Read Them And Found Satanic Content In Some Form Or Another...Or Is It Just The Newspapers Using Satanism As Propaganda To Stop People Reading Harry Potter Or Something.

Harry Potter
They say Harry Potter promotes a belief in magic and therefore it is satanic because it is un-godly. At school (all-girl catholic convent aaargh!) we were taught that it was in violation of the commandment 'I am the Lord you God, you shall not have strange gods before me' to dabble in anything occult. This meant everything from black masses to reading your horoscope. We weren't allowed to believe in ghosts either, unless it was The Holy Spirit, or Jesus' ma appearing to St. Bernadette and whoever else, and practising magic was about as bad as you could be. It was also in violation to spend more time thinking about your favourite boy-band than you did about god or anything else for that matter like money or sex or the fact that you couldn't wait to get home from school and have a bacon sandwich or something.
Basically if it wasn't rooted in Christianity it was satanic. I haven't read them but I've noticed no real satanic references. Although at one point Professor Snape tells them he can teach them to brew fame and bottle glory and riches. I guess that's kind of Satanic. But there are no baphomets or black masses or orgies or anything.
If JK Rowling is reading this here's a future book title suggestion - "Harry Potter and the Golden Shower Baphomet Orgy".

This I Thought Was Stupid...
This story describes alarming effects in the lives of kids who are Harry Potter fans. It says the ranks of satanic temples are filling with children and quotes a 9-year-old girl as saying, "I used to believe in what they taught us at Sunday School...but the Harry Potter books showed me that magic is real, something I can learn and use right now, and that the Bible is nothing but boring lies." It also quotes Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling as saying, "These books guide children to an understanding that the weak, idiotic Son Of God is a living hoax who will be humiliated when the rain of fire comes, and will suck the greasy (censored) of the Dark Lord while we, his faithful servants, laugh and cavort in victory."

Harry Potter re: satanism
Having visited the link I have to wonder, WHY!, do these people not have lives, do they work or do they just spend their time looking for satanic references in average books. Silly me of course thats all they do, well apart from worshipping and obeying their fictional god (how crazy is that). King Jesus what next.
Re: This I Thought Was Stupid...
The websites have all been proved to be hoaxes. Most of them source a spoof article from theonion.com They even had a quote from Lord Egan saying that since the books came out young membership is through the roof. Of course John didn't say this at all.
The trouble is some people took the article out of context and it flooded the internet. Now that DID get us some interest. I think the exposingsatanism.com reference is second hand from the original theonion.com source. Idiots.
The BBC link is simply stating the fact that american schools like to censor far too much. There was a lot of hysteria from the theonion.com's article which went too far.
I am interested though in recent articles or news items in main stream media. Its this type of thing as well as the Laci Peterson trials and the RevSorath trials that can drag our name through mud again. However this also gives us right to reply and so our voices can be heard.

I love the onion and I think it is hilarious that these half-wits took this seriously. When are people going to learn to read things properly before forming their conclusions?
I read this particular article (in which it was pretended Egan was quoted) and thought it was a superb piece of satire. I believe that in the same edition there was also a feature on how the bullies at Columbine are now so nicely readjusted that they feel they are ready to go back to their duties which aim to make the lives of their more unconventional classmates a living hell. Hooray for self-help programmes and community prayer!
And there was also an article about Marilyn Manson embarking on a door-to-door tour of the suburbs of Middle America shocking people with his crazy satanic antics on their well-kept front lawns.
