Hello to anyone who stops by!
I know this post might not get read by anyone, but I just want to say a solid goodbye to this old place. FKoC meant a lot to me while it was active, and I will always cherish my memories of the people who were a part of it. I hope everyone has moved on into wonderful lives and I look forward to meeting each of you in heaven.

As for myself, I graduated from the University of California Davis with a BS in electrical engineering and I ranked 1st in my major. I do not have a job yet, but I'm sure I will end up somewhere good.

It is sad to come back here, but it is good to know we made the best of this place while it lasted. Thank you all for being a part of FKoC and, more importantly, for being such great and wonderful people. I wish you all the best and hope God goes overboard with his blessings in your lives.

If you visit after I post this, let me know if you think I should take down these boards. As long as they stay up I will visit every so often, and when I visit it will make me sad. A part of me wants to take them down, but I don't want to act on just my feelings (and it would mean this post never gets read!).

Take care! I'll be hoping for that heavenly reunion!

p.s. Don't forget that, at least for now, Christian Gamer, Tribe of Judah, and the Christian Gamer Alliance are still active if you want gaming buddies. I am not an active part of any of them, but I'm sure there are great people in those groups.

Kaze9999 checking in!
How funny! I checked in here just the other day after months and months of not even thinking about it!

I suggest leaving the board up as long as it's free. It's tempting to make a dramatic gesture to close a chapter of our life that we're moving on from, but life--i.e. God--has a way of throwing you curve balls, and you might find the board becomes a part of your life again down the line.

Just my 2 cents.

By the way, here's my MySpace in case anyone wants to touch base: I've got a bunch of blog entries on it too so people can see what I've been up to.

Ah, so your the one that has left the forum active. I was wonder who was doing that.

Yeah, we go back a long way.

I'm still playing around with ToJ and other Christian gamers, using the forum in CGA.

I think I could be the only one STILL playing Starcraft and recently, Diablo 2.

GL HF, only you! ;)

I still check in here about once a month. Man we have been around a long time now. 8 years I think.

We may not be active, but the board is still a nice place to keep in touch occasionally.

As for myself I play World of warcraft a fair bit of late. Other htan that I just try to keep busy with work.

Re: Hello to anyone who stops by!
wow, it has been so very long. i am not sure how many people will remember me as i have a much smaller post count than some. i think corpfox will -- we used to talk on icq. and i think kaze will too.

anyway, i am glad to see you all seem relatively happy and have bright futures.

as for me:

i believe i was 13 or 14 when i joined fkoc, back when i was addicted to starcraft (i still play once in a while :hat )

i have since drifted away from the church however. it has been tough for me to come to terms with all the evil that has been done in the name of christianity. the "god hates fags" people of the infamous westboro baptist church have recently come to my town and reinforced this :\ i know nobody here is like that (i don't think...) and i wish there were more christians like yous in the world.

i now take on a more agnostic outlook, when it comes to religion. and i am pretty liberal.

this is me now:

i am now 20 years old and i am a sophomore at penn state university (go nittany lions!), where i am pursuing a bachelor's in international politics and a minor in economics. i also intern as an assistant to a state representative.

Re: Hello to anyone who stops by!
Wow, this is amazing.

It's good to see that you guys - all of my first real friends I had over the web - are still in good health.

Right now I'm a junior enrolled in Washington State University. I'm majoring political science with an emphasis on pre-law. After I graduate next year, I intend on going to Seattle or somewhere around there to major in environmental law. After that, who knows?

I still check this board, but usually only once every three months or so. I definately hold this board and all of you in a special place in my heart. I remember all the Starcraft/Diablo 2 discussion we'd have. I remember the debates about Scripture and evolution and this and that we'd have. As a matter of fact, earlier this evening I saw Ally (anyone remember her?) on my AIM. I didn't IM her - I felt it would be kind of weird, having not talked to her for years - but it spurred my interest in regards to how this board has been doing as of late. It's good to see you guys post an update on how your lives are.

I too joined this board when I was very young...13 I think, a whole seven years ago. I don't play too many games anymore - if I do, it's usually Need for Speed or Grand Theft Auto on the 360 - but I remember back when I played Starcraft, Diablo 2 with you guys, and eventually EverQuest with Kaze.

Here's some pics:

As you can see...I go through random times of beardness!

In regards to the board, SirNukes, I do hope you keep it up. It makes me sad when I visit it too, but I soon remember all the good times we've had. I'd still like this little part of my past to be preserved, if it doesn't bother you much.

Hope to see some more replies to this post, so we can update each other on what's been going on!

Stopping In
Well, I heard that Starcraft II is in the works, and thought I'd give a shout to the old crew. Nukes, Firehawk, Meremoth, Spiff, and all: Thanks for the fellowship and encouragement. I, too, have grown in the intervening years, as have my three children as well. God bless, and drop by my blog to chat anytime:

God blessyou and keep you.

Re: Stopping In
I am not a regular. But have stopped by over the last few years several times, First was probably about EverQuest, and then for NeverWinter Nights.

I have linked to this foruum from my webpages iin the past, I am the owner of a large christian website and linked here from my EQ pages. I no longer play EQ, haven't for awhile.

But I have recently restarted my interest in the NES (the original Nintendo system) and have created a new page on that. But before doing such, I have always wanted to create a center hub page on Entertainment and have done so. This is to discuss entertainment and gaming from a Biblical perspective and deal with alot of myths.

Anyways, I said that to say this, I have indeed linked this forum on my website as a christian gamers forum. So I hope you keep it going.

And if you have any other sites to recommend I may consider linking to them as well.

Thanks,
Doma

Re: Stopping In
Wow! It is awesome to see so many old friends. I lost track of this forum for a very long time until just recently when I googled my screen name and up pops this website!

How has everyone been doing? Doesn't look too active but it is nice to hear everyone is doing well.

Wow, I joined this forum back in May 11, 2000. Seven years ago! This was the first forum I consistently posted on and you guys were my first true Internet friends. So many good years of gaming, chatting, learning, debating, and having a fun time. This place was a huge part of my life back then. I was 14 when I first joined and now I am 21!

I'm doing pretty good myself. Took a long break from school after I graduated high school in 2004, class clown, by the way. :) I finished a year of online school at the University of Phoenix and I am now transferring to the University of Kentucky to study psychology.

I haven't been gaming much lately. I did play World of Warcraft for over a year when I wasn't in school and was very dedicated to it. I played on the Suramar server and my name was Panamared but then changed to Panhandler. I had an awesome paladin (one that actually knew how to heal and kill :) ) with some of the top gear in the game and was one of the top PvPers on the server in one of the top guilds. However, reality smacked me in the face pretty hard and realized I can't just play WoW for the rest of my life, so I started helping my father run his business in Lexington, KY.

Fast forward to now and I am basically partner with my father and in the process of buying a home. Also looking for a new car and have been thinking about getting a hybrid (gas prices are ridiculous). I'll be starting at UK (Go big blue!) this fall and sorta looking forward to it. With school and work there is really not much time for gaming, but I do occasionally rip-it-up on Guitar Hero II. I was a professional air guitarist beforehand, so I picked it right up with ease. :)

The nostalgic feeling I get when looking at this forum is amazing. I miss you guys! I'll have to post some pictures when I get a chance.

It's late here so I'm going to log off, but I will be bookmarking this forum and checking up on it every now-and-then. Hopefully I will hear more from you guys!

FKoC all the way, baby!

Y'alls friend,

Jeremy

Edit: By the way, SirNukes, I do hope you keep the forum up. :)

Edit #2: Hey spaceman spiff! It's been awhile! That looks like some good beer you're having in Canada, instead of the nasty macro swill most people drink. Hopefully you got a chance to try Unibroue while you were there. They're one of my all time favorite breweries and they specialize in Belgians, one of the few breweries outside of Belgium that can make good Belgian style ales.

I got to smoke on a couple of nice stogies recently for various celebrations, one of them being fairly rare (only sold in 50 stores in the United States). Forgot the name of it but if it comes to me I'll have to let you know because it was pretty good. I'm not much of a cigar aficionado but I do know quite a bit about good craft beer (don't worry, I'm not an alchey). :)

Anywho, nighty night!

Re: Long Time
Hey guys its good to you your still around. Its been quite awhile. I was just thinking about some of you guys awhile back. I'm playing World of Warcraft myself DV. What server are you playing on? I was Guild master of Redeemed(www.redeemedonstonemaul.org) for awhile and Sanctification(www.christiangamer.org) which is only an alt guild for most of Redeemed toons now. If you feel like dropping by Stonemaul say Hi to Alhana or Gnimish(my main toons there). I actually started a guild on Illidan when WoW first came out called Faithful Knights of Christ in honor of our days here.

Its great to see so many old faces stopping by to say hello and keep in touch. Its been ages since we have been together. Thats why these forums are so good.

Don't forget that Starcraft 2 is in development.

Starcraft 2 as a MMORPG. LOL

That would be cool but its currently a high graphical RTS game.

I plan to get it the end of this year.
