Historical Businesses? Do any of you ladies have a historical-type business? My friends and I started the Ladies Aid Society, and we give "Teas" that are about the ladies of the Civil War. We use the money for the annual Civil War ball we started doing last year. They are a lot of fun, and have taught me public speaking. I have been doing them in "modern day" persona, but I am now working on getting them into Civil War persona, because I am going to my first reenactment, at Hagley Museam, and the museam asked us to to the Tea! Does anyone have any suggestions? Yours, Jo Came but for Friendship, and took away Love. |

Sounds like Fun!
Hi Jo,
Your historical teas sounds like a lot of fun! What do you plan on speaking about at your next reenactment? What is your "program" like? I'd love to hear more about it! ~Blessings~ Emilee Elizabeth

Re: Sounds like Fun! What a wonderful opportunity, Jo. Congratulations! What do you normally do for one of your teas? Knowing may help us make more useful suggestions. I know it will go well... You must be thrilled. In Him, ~Mrs. Whatley |

Re: Sounds like Fun! Hello! How are ya'll? At the "Tea," I speak about Ladies clothing. Right now, I am doing it in modern-day language, but I need to change it to first person. It will take me a while to get it right, but I think I'll eventually get it. Any suggestions would be really helpful! We actually just did a tea yesterday and it was so much fun! two more this month...then another three next month! It is a little scary at first when you get up in front of all the people, but then, once you start talking, you calm right down!!!! Thanks! Jo Came but for Friendship, and took away Love. |
