Hummingbird Smartcast Fish Finder Review

Purchase: Acquired from Galyans Department Store. $164.99 for the large Unit and the Wrist Unit is 89.99
Likes: The large unit was used by a guide to track his depths under his planer boards on both sides of the boat. It allowed us to skip areas without fish and to work areas slower with fish that reacted to the bait. The wrist unit works great as a float for the Float and Fly method fishing for smallmouth on Dale Hollow. It allowed me to watch fish react to my bait. I could determine type of action and retrieve that attracted the fish as well as to move out of areas without fish.
Dislikes: Hard to load the wrist band battery in very cold weather. But still worked great.
Quality: Well constructed units. The sonar unit is solid and takes a beating. The recievers of both the wrist and large model work very good but the definition is not great.. but for a small units still good.
Summary: Worth the cost and price. Helped my fishing and that of the guide I fished with.
