I Found This, and It Angered Me

This person wrote an entire article as to why FFIV is a horrible game. Note that he thinks it worse among RPGs, not FFs. I have yet to email this fool because I know it would lack any logic and be only passion and hatred. Maybe some of you should email this creatin and explain to him how wrong he truly is. FFIV is my favorite game, and I understand that not all gamers hold such high favor for it. However, I at least expect simple respect for my decision. Afterall, we cannot bring reason to a game that is pure fantasy. The writer said FFIV had a horrid story. Oddly, I can't think of a story that I enjoy more. Read the article and maybe you too will be bothered by it. Sadly, some people just can't enjoy FFIV the same way that I do. I don't mean to sound like a weirdo, I just enjoy the game that damn much.
After reading through this guys review, its clear to me that..
1) He is a jerk for not liking it.
2) Never took the effort to get to know the characters personalities.
When people give that attitude towards such a great game, well, it angers and frustrates me aswell because it can be so simply fixed up, that the person in question just plain refuses to do so and goes about his ways. I used to be EXCATLY like that actually, in regards to FF8 & 9.. but what did i do? i went and got both games, and i have thoroughly played them both.. and now, my opinions on the 2 have been lifted, i now ENJOY playing the both of them..
I can only see one valid point he brings up in his rant though... that FFIV lacks variety.. yes, it does actually.. since the characters are stuck to their one class, it would make the experience less enjoyable for those who are used to the Multi-Class systems.. but eh, doesnt make me think either way about it, because it shows their true character.
You are right about the lack of variety in character classes, but that's just how FFIV is. The way that guy talked about FFIV, he made it seem like the game hadn't any worth. I mean, I think FFIV has the most worth. I don't know. Just makes me angry. I'd like to send him some hatemail, but that'd probably just make him happy.

He basically said he hated surprises and hated that the Meteo spell made sense.
Also. A battle system doesn't change the way an RPG is played.... He might as well play a first-person-shooter.
Here here!! lol, i found that a bit odd aswell, about Meteo.. it makes sense when Rydia is casting it, but it takes too long to cast.. bleh, thats my only bitch about that spell. Also, im gonna take a punt by assuming this.. he must've played alot of other FF titles before touching FFIV (ie, the previous 3 FF's) maybe that is why he loathes FFIV to the degree that he does.. bleh, all the older FF battles systems were turn-based.. not ye'ol faithful ATB.. Ahh well.
And heh, throw him a copy of Medal of Honor and keep him the hell away from FFIV, like we need anymore people like that eh?
While i think of it Clayden, you want a custom title? heh, go into the "Site/Forum Happenings" Forum and post what you want in that thread i got open about it.

I didn't bother to read this article, but all I have to say about anyone who believes FF4 is such a horrible game...:
1) Consider the time it was made around, and the system it was made on. Pretty damn good game for its time, no?
2) He prolly hasn't even played all the way through the game, therefore having no right to judge the game as being so horrible.
3) Eh, well... Everyone's entitled to an opinion. What can ya really do about it?

Personally, I LIKE having set job classes in my FF games. I mean, FF7 is fine and all, but....what really segregates the characters in your party? Only they way they look and act, thats IT. They can all summon/cast black magic/cast white magic/use this and that ability/be demi-gods. I think theres much more balance and makes it more of a...fantasy based game with the classes. If you're in battle and Rosa dies...you know you're stuck using potions and phoenix downs to revive her, no Life 2. In the newer FF games, if your healer dies it doesn't matter a damn cause everyone and their brother can be one. It kind of....takes the power out of some classes in my opinion.
I like pretty much every FF game though, I just totally disagree with his statement. Hes obviously 12 and has some sexual fettish involving Cloud or something.

I understand what he says, and why he doesnt like it. I liked the diffrent classes although I think you should be able to choose your final party towards the end.

Anyone who has anything to gripe about in FFIV that thinks it makes the whole game bad has nothing but fluff in their fucking head!! And that's my way of being nice about it...

Heh, ive been thinking about that shadow. And well, sure it'd be handy to be able to choose who goes in for the final battle.. but as the story goes along, you ever notice how ALL of the character's (besides the final 5 party) are hanging around Mysidia? its all part of the Storyline.. heh, it'd be blasphemy to change the story for the sake of say, having Yang in your final party, when he was supposed to be in a Coma down in the Underworld. XD kinda doesnt compute.
And heh, fluff in their heads XD well.. erm.. one way to put it i suppose.
