I have weird thoughts I'm saved by Jesus but I keep wanting to die so I could go to heaven and not live here anymore. Weird huh? |

Re: I have weird thoughts
Not at all, in fact I think that the Bible actually says that SHOULD be your attitude (or something to that effect).
However, you need to remember that all Christians are here for a reason - to be the Salt and the Light of the world. Salt is a preservative, so we are supposed to keep our world as moral as we possibly can... We are to be the light in that we should try to guide people to Jesus. This is probably the more important of the two... So just think, even though I'm sure we all would like to just be in heaven, we'd probably like to be there with our families, friends.... and enemies. Keep at it, there is plenty of work to be done. And on the last day, just think how joyful it will be to see all the people that you sacrificed your time for there with you. Not that they all will, but there's no way God will let you be fruitless in your efforts, even if it seems like it at first. Live long and prosper!! - - Unfallen

thoughts Unfallen quoted:"Salt is a preservative, so we are supposed to keep our world as moral as we possibly can..." Morality is a cultural thing. Check out the old testament on morals. It was common to have more than one wife, a man could play around but a woman was stoned to death for the same thing. Lot thought nothing of offering his daughters to the crowd for their "pleasures" so he could protect his guests. If you want to talk some more on biblical morality let me know. "We are to be the light in that we should try to guide people to Jesus. This is probably the more important of the two... So just think, even though I'm sure we all would like to just be in heaven, we'd probably like to be there with our families, friends.... and enemies." The original poster of this subject needs to get a life. There is no heaven and if there is one thing that atheists and Unfallen believe in is that their is much work to be done. Atheists believe fervently in Ecclesiastes 9:10 "Whatever thy hand findeth to do, do with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, whither thou goest. " |

Re: thoughtsQuote: Or else we'll do what, exactly? In my opinion, this isn't the first such post from NUHERE, and won't be the last. Eric |

thoughts Mary:"Please do not assume you have the freedom to come to this board and make personal attacks on our members." That is not a personal attack. This is a person with a deep seated problem brought on by religion. On top of that, Unfallen supported his view. I think this person may be suicidal and you people are supporting him. This is one of the main reasons religion especially Christianity is not good for mankind. Christianity teaches that this life is cheap and not worth much. This is the bogus teaching that continues to keep people comfortable in their shortcomings whether it be poverty or enslavement because in their mind they believe they will be rewarded for their suffering in the here after. In the meantime it is the ministers and clergy that continue to spout this dogma while holding their hands out every week for the money to continue doing what they do. What is so amazing is that there is not one shred of proof to back up any of the claims religion makes and people continue like sheep to support it. |

Re: thoughts and how many years did you believe in "religion"? Religion alone in itself can be a problem. Its not all about a book of rules. Its a life-style accompanied with a relationship. I have a question for you, if you are so certain of yourself about the belief that Christianity is a farce, why not tell your family? Are we easier to attack, why not go shred their faith?

thoughts "Its a life-style accompanied with a relationship. I have a question for you, if you are so certain of yourself about the belief that Christianity is a farce, why not tell your family? Are we easier to attack, why not go shred their faith? " Mary Christianity may be a lifestyle but their is no relationship. Relationships are a two way street. Unless you can demonstrate that God speaks to you it is only one way. I thought I answered the second part of your question earlier as to why I don't tell my family. It is strictly politics for lack of a better term. I would accomplish nothing if I did and endanger everything that I have.According to Sun Tsu in the "Art of War' if you cannot win do your best to avoid a fight. I am confident that my children will eventually see the light in the future and hopefully I will be there to support them in their new found knowledge. |

Re: thoughts You're wrong again Nuhere. People, including my mother, feel a direct connection to God. That's a relationship regardless of what you choose to define it as. <p> |

Re: I have weird thoughts Hey. It is perfectly normal to know where you are going and want to go there now. I mean what is the point in being in this dump of a planet when you can have eternal life in the glory of God. However, also remember this. We are Gods children, sent to the earth to spread his work and live a Christian life. I myself went through a spell of "If I just kill myself I will get to heaven quicker" but I was given some useful information. God has given us a gift, the gift of life. If we kill ourselves to be with him sooner we are giving him back his gift and basically saying we don't want it. I personally don't think that is the way to thank the Lord for his gift. Hope this has helped God Bless you |
