I'm addicted!!!
I can't stop! I'm well and truly addicted to marillion. I bought two Fish albums (Yin and Raingods with Zippos) which are pretty good, and "Made Again" (Marillion) Which is subliminal. It's got the whole of Brave live on, which is an unbelievably brilliant album. Plus, i got the album (31 tracks, double CD) from HMV for £2.99.
Steve Hogarth does a bloody good rendition of Kayleigh (but i still pine for old Fishy).
Thanks everyone for starting my addiction (I think)
Re: I'm addicted!!!
Marillion does have that effect, it starts slowly, first you buy the albums, next you'll try to hunt down the singles (would be easier now with the Fish boxsetout and the H-set planned to be released in August). Next bootlegs and a membership with the Front Row Club. And before you know it cost you more money than a heroin addiction ]-)
true
True. In a few years, i can see myself being skint, with a wall full of marillion albums (i'm only 16, so i'll have to buy copies of script, misplaced childhood and fugazi for when i leave). Oh well, i love it.
wow
Wow, thats weird. It took me a while to find out why you were called 'hollow man', but having bougfht Brave, it's one of the best songs on the album

hey there
Hi, new to this forum, just found it today while printing out the latest discography. I thought this was an interesting post. I got into Marillion (introduced by a friend) when I was 20; 36 yrs old now and as big a fan as ever. Not many fellow Marillion fans here in Virginia, USA, so I may check back here often to keep up.
Re: hey there
I've come in contact with Marillion when I was 21 (and that was in 1984). I heard a live show on the radio (pinkpop Geleen '84) that show changed my life, I bought Fugazi the next day. I got the next album a few months later 'Script' but it had a very different sound than Fugazi, I did not like it at first. After a few months later I loved it, and that was the case with most marillion albums. The summer of '85 had me searching for all 12" singles, I found them all in a short time. When I had them all a new album was ready for me to buy "Misplaced Childhood" one of the few albums that I liked right away. I also had a hard time getting into "Clutching", Brave and Afraid of Sunlight.
!
wow! That's exactly what happened to me. I heard script a year ago, hated it, then re-listened 6 months later, and it became my fave album ever. it was the same ith c@s (although, not 6 months..)
Re: I'm addicted
I think you meant 'sublime' rather than 'subliminal', unless you meant you can't quite hear it. In which case, turn it up and then it won't be subliminal!
I'm 15 years old now, when I was 12 years old my father took me to a Marillion concert in Vredeburg (Utrecht). I thaught it was cool but wasn't really addicted to it. I had only heard Steve Hogarth. When I was 13 I got Misplaced Childhood. From that moment I was realy addicted.
