Information on Surgery
I have been searching the internet for weeks and I was delighted to find this site.

I have an 8 month old daughter with an extra thumb on her left hand. It is a seperate digit, but has bone in it and it sticks out of the side of her hand. We want to have surgery to remove it, but I cannot find out anything about the procedure and how to find a good surgeon.

Can anyone help me?

My biggest thing with the surgery is it an in hospital procedure that requires overnight stay?

I would talk to your pediatrician about
finding a good Dr. Our ped referred us to a specialist and he told us he has taken care of many similar cases.

I think for most this is an out patient procedure, if things go well your little girl won't have to stay overnight.
