This past weekend I started have problems with the internet. Most pages do not load. The pages that do load, the scrolling is very slow and jumpy. It takes several minutes for the scrolling to catch up once I start scrolling. Also, the pages and controls lock up. I thought that perhaps the internet explorer that I was using (5.5) became corrupted, so I downloaded the most recent version (6) and I am still having the same problems. Which are getting progressivly worse. I thought that maybe my isp was having problems, so I called them and we reset the ip address (because a few hours before all of this started happening I received an error message saying that my ip address didn't match my internet connection), cleared out the temp files, history, and cookies. We checked my connection speed and it was fast. We also checked my resources (83%) and RAM (128 M.B). Everything checked out good with them. So, they said that it is a problem with internet explore. I ran scandisk, defrag, my virus program, used the ie fix utility, ran adware. Nothing helps. Can you please help me correct this? Please!!! Fyi, I am using win 98
Thanks for responding. No, I have not uninstalled and reinstalled ie. I'm a little hesitant to do that because I am unsure what problems to expect. But, I think that that is coming soon. And, I am on cable.
