I've got a dreamcatcher wedged up my third chakra
Does anybody know who it was that said 'the trouble when people stop believing in God is that they start believing in anything'? It was someone famous for their wit anyway.
Whoever it was I want to give them a medal. I'm sick to death of the drivel that people spew. 'Oh I don't think my life is going too well I'd better Feng Shui my room', 'oh the reason my cat died was because my horoscope said I might lose something' , 'oh I love that person they're so spiritually enlightened' ,'oh this room is full of negativity'......f uck off!
This rape, idealisation and romanticizing of the beliefs deep-seeded and, in my eyes, inalienable from other cultures, and the blind embracing of every scrap of mystical psuedo-wisdom is just another way of stopping people from facing up to the reality of the events in their lives and it is another way in which people hide from responsibility. It is as ridiculous as believing that god exists, has a plan for you and loves you and will save you if you acknowedge his existence and devote your life to serving him, and who will make you suffer for all eternity if you have sex with someone you love if you aren't married and don't ask for forgiveness. And yet the people who believe in this bollocks are the very people who believe themselves to be liberated and clever. They're still self-deluding slaves as far as I'm concerned.
....1,2,3 aaaaah! Thanks.

I know exactly what you mean. Horoscopes are complete and utter bullshit. If you think about it, how can 500 million people have the same day? And then there's things like Septic Peg off the lottery. I know that's only a mess about but it's similar to other ones....there will be many many winners who win £10 or whatever and there's bound to be several wearing a green jumper and drives a BMW.

Re: I've got a dreamcatcher wedged up my third chakra
escapism is one thing, but don't fall into the trap of complete nihilism. believing that nothing has value, and has no bearing on your existance so why bother with it etc...
I did and and it did me no favours at all. for about 3 years i had severe paranoia and depression, and even voices in my head a few times too.
Now that I've calmed down
I want to make clear that I feel everyone has the right to believe what they want.
I'd just spent a weekend arguing with someone about the validity of the use of such words as 'spiritual' in the loose, general and unchallenged way that it is; and about how I felt that it was stupid to reject god because there is no proof of god's existence only to then embrace some other supernaturally based idea for which you also have a complete absence of proof.
I've experienced so much of this in people lately I had to sound off about it. I feel there's no point in swapping one lie for another.
For people who feel they do not need proof, that they just believe it, I say that is their choice and they are welcome to it and it is their right.
I've read your post and agree on most of the parts!!
I mean if we had to do everything it said in the bible, I think
that there would be nobody going to Heaven!! Is there one
person in the world that has never told a lie, or has never had
sex before marriage?! Do you know of anyone who doesn't
smoke, or doesn't eat pork, or even one who hasn't had a bad
thought, or one who has never used a bad word?!
Or what about Love Thy Neighbor?! I don't know about you,
but my damn neighbors are IDIOTS!!
I don't go to church, or read the bible much, but I do believe
that as long as you do the best you can, and that you
believe in a higher being, wether it be Budda or whatever, is
that you'll pass on to another place called the spirt world!!
If you continue to be a bad person, and murder or rape, then
you will probably repeat in this life, which HAS to be Hell!!
But seriously...
I think that considering we will never have any solid definite proof as to the existence of god, the devil, heaven or hell then it comes down to pure faith. You either believe or you don't. It so happens that I don't.
And I can relate. My neighbour is a dick.
I like this new side we are seeing of you Ed. Your way of thinking is closer to satanism than you think.
I doubt that I sound almost like a Satanist!! Don't Satanists
believe and worship to Satan?!
I did post some interesting topics on my forum in the Serious
Discussion area that I just recently added to my forum, if you
are interested in reading and responding to them because I'm
interested in your opinion!!

Re: Indeed
Hi Ed.
Satan means different things to different people and the same goes for satanists.
Personally I do not believe in satan or worship satan. The same goes for most of the regular posters on this board. But some satanists do believe in deities. I am an atheist.
Seeing as you asked nicely this time I'll give you a short explanation.
Not speaking for anyone but myself, satan is a symbol to me of opposition to anything which aims to get in the way of my freedom of thought or freedom of will. It means I always look for truth whenever possible, I stand up to my opponents, I try to be the best person that I can be, I live by my own morals and allow others to do the same (unless of course what they do causes me strife.) I live within the law of the land in which I live, I don't harm others (unless absolutely necessary), I take as much pleasure as possible and if I don't like something I try to change it. I refuse to feel guilty for following my urges, because at the end of the day humans are just animals, and I don't allow anyone to tell me that what I am doing is wrong (if I believe it is right and causes no-one any harm).
Those are the basics. If you want to ask me anything else feel free. And I will have a look in your forum.
Re: Indeed
In fact I have decided. If Ed Foster wants my opinion on anything he can come here and ask me. If the question is intelligent and asked in an appropriate fashion then I will be more than happy to respond. Otherwise there will be no response. I will not be posting on his forum because it contains too much anti-satanism.
Ed's forum
Hi Ed. I know what you're saying but I don't feel right about contributing to a forum which makes fun of satanists, regardless as to whether they are theists or not. I now see that you've started on the satanic kindred as well.
I don't mind the link you posted to the flame forum because we have nothing to hide, so that isn't my problem.
I don't agree with the theists but I still respect them and I won't be part of something which seeks to undermine satanism in any form, especially when you didn't research us before attacking us, so how many other times have you done that to people?
But as I said before I'm happy to talk to you properly here. I just don't want my name associated with anything anti-satanic.
