John Mayer and Eric Clapton on Good Morning America July 20
On Friday, July 20, 2007, between 8 and 9 a.m. EDT, ABC's Good Morning America will feature a performance by John Mayer with very special guest, Eric Clapton. July 20 marks Fender's release of the limited edition Eric Clapton Crossroads Stratocaster, also known as the "Sun Strat", that Fender's Custom Shop has created to help support The Crossroads Centre, Antigua, the drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation facility founded by Clapton in 1998 on the small Caribbean island. Only 100 Sun Strats will be produced by the Custom Shop's Master Builders, all proceeds from the sale of which will benefit The Crossroads Centre.
A little over a week later, on July 28, fans fortunate enough to have tickets to the sold out 2007 Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago will be able to see Clapton and Mayer perform in a full concert setting along with a veritable Who's Who list of guitarists, such as Jeff Beck, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Hubert Sumlin, Derek Trucks, Jimmie Vaughan, and many others. Profits from the festival concert are also earmarked for The Crossroads Centre.
